Looks like you had fun, and I surely don't want to yell at you but I am going to just offer some words of advice.

Trespassing is a BIG no no. Wheeling in places where you're not supposed to be, is bad juju for the whole sport. Not to mention, if you go to the wrong place farmer John is likely to take a pot shot at ya!

Tread Lightly!

Google "Off Road Park Illinois" you'll probably find places that are closer than you think to go and stomp in the mud.

Check with your local Forest Service office or whatever you have up there for where you can go legally.

Please... enjoy your Jeep, but wheel responsibly and respectfully.

Thanks

K

Congrat's!
Jeeping isn't a hobby, it's an OBSESSION. Welcome.

And, just because there weren't signs, doesn't mean it wasn't private property.
We have 100 acres, and only 1 sign-at our driveway.
Find the right places to go, it just takes a little time and effort, and will help to insure that...

No signs doesn't mean it wasn't illegal. Someone owns that property. Things like this are the reason we don't have many legal places to wheel. Take the time and find the legal places. find out who owns the property and ask person. Above all tread lightly. www.treadlighly.org

I wont get into the politics of wheeling, but congrats on your mud ride. Thats something I am incapable of doing because mine falls into the "Mall Crawler" category. Thanks for sharing! Now go scrub 'er down and shine up them wheels. Hehehe

Nice ride.. I havent got to off road yet in mine... It looks like the wrangler sra tires did good, I was worried about them.. My last vehicle I have BFG's KO's they worked very well in the mid-west area, rain/ice/snow/sand/ never really went in the mud..

as soon as i get a chance to go off the road, I will post the pics too...

this is 100% correct. even if there are no signs what so ever it will always be somebodys property. eventually you will get caught and get a hefty fine from doing it.

i learned the hard way and i wasnt even causing and kinda problems or damage at all. so always make sure to get a writen permit or letter from the owner first or find someplace legal to 4wheel

The amount of the fine is superfluous. The big picture is that you are giving more ammunition to the liberals who want to shut down ALL if the legal places to wheel. It's not worth the ten minutes of tearing through a mud hole and 3 hours of cleanup just to post a picture and make the claim that you went off road.
