Last year (Memorial Day weekend) I put anti-seize on my hinges. Well, over the summer and then winter, the anti-seize hardened and "locked" my doors on. They opened fine, but I could not get them off. I know summer is almost over, but it was time to fix this. I also decided to paint the hinges because they were rusty and some of them the paint was coming off.
I tried to lift a couple of the doors off by using a floor jack and a short 2x10. All I did was lift the Jeep. So, instead of bending up one of my doors, I pulled the bolts that mount the hinges to the body. Then I could pull the hinges apart. One door I needed to use a block of wood and a hammer to get the hinges apart.
I used 80 grit sandpaper to clean off the caked on anti-seize and rust. Since I was doing this I decided to paint the hinges also. Taped them off, scuffed them up and used spray-on bedliner.
Here are the pics:

This is what I used
I was going to get Duplicolor brand, but it was $19.99 a can. A couple of years ago it was around $10. This stuff was less than $8 at Menards.
Done and back on
Now, what to put on the hinges to avoid this mess again. Grease? or what?
