Flaming furious mad right now

So I traded my 12 for a 13 last night. Went back this morning to pick it up and finalize the deal. Well, I hoped in when and notice the gas tank was almost empty.

So I go back in and ask my sales guy where the gas was. He said Chrysler stopped reimbursing them around October so they don't fill the tank with new car purchases anymore.

Maybe it's just me, but that is the biggest slap in the face I've had in a while. I just spent $30,000 and they can't fill up the tank?! I told the guy if the sale wasn't finalized I would have walked.

I'm so mad right now......

That's BS!! Has nothing to do with them being reimbursed....they are just being cheap...I just bought a 12 leftover and got a full tank.

I had that tried on me last year with a diesel Ram purchase.

When the salesman finished his speil about no re-imbursement, bla, bla, bla.
I took the envelope full of deal papers, threw it on his desk and said forget it. I'll go back home the same way I got here, and began walking for the door. You have a set amount of days to change your mind on a vehicle purchase. I told him I'd changed my mind due to the p*ss poor sales treatment.

Needless to say the tank was filled shortly. Never leave the lot without a full tank, never. Tell them the deal is off and your walking if this simple courtesy can't be performed.

Pretty sad if they cant come out of their profit for a tank of gas. My dealership was awesome. 2% under w/ tread lightly, picked us up from the airport, did some minor installs for free on accessories I bought (fuel door, taillamp guards, etc.), and a full tank of gas for the trip back to Vegas.

Thats just your dealership not going out of their way to make you feel appreciated.

Traded my 2010 in on Tuesday for a 2013 and they filled the tank up full. Never heard of half fills.

My dealer has put in about 1/4 tank for the last 3 vehicles. They're just cheap and, as you can see, it hasn't stopped them from getting my business. They know there isn't much competition in regards to someone who already has their mind made up on a Jeep.

I was given a full tank and 500$ in fuel credits I drove for "free" for a couple months. That would piss me off too

Bought my wife's jeep a year ago and they did that. Spent 40k on it. When I bought my jeep that left a poor tast in my mouth, so I went else ware. I told the new dealer about it and they even said its BS. I bought in November.

I bought a new Subaru Impreza for my mom on Friday and they filled it up. I question a dealer's after sales treatment if they can't fill a new car up for you. I have never not had one filled when it was purchased.

I am one of the few people IMO that once you screw up INTENTIONALLY you are done....told that to my salesperson when we got the JK in Dec of last year..also explained that I EXPECTED a full tank of gas and the Jeep be properly serviced.....I shouldn't get it home and find something "wrong". He said no problem...the headllights were out of adjustment...I was not happy.

I sent him an email and told him, while I was at work the following day he called my wife at her job, and sent a couple lot guys to get the Jeep and take it back adjust the lights and take it back. also tossed in a couple car washes and an oil change. Sent me an apology email that I got that night after work

When we purchased our "13 300 in Dec I went back to same salesperson, told him full tank of gas, and no surprises. He asked if we could wait one more day to take delivery. I asked why he said I want to drive your car for one day so I KNOW IT IS RIGHT. We picked up and have had ZERO issues...when it is time to buy something else I will go see him....but with the TJ and the JK and the 300....its gonna be a while!!

BS on no tank of gas...bring it up verbally a couple times...yeah you will probably pay for it but, it "feels better" leaving with a full tank!!!

Well, the problem is this will be dealer number two I won't go to now.

The dealer I bought last years Jeep from lied to me when I went to do a trade. The told me they were going to give me deal X, my wife was there and heard them, and when the day came to sign the papers they tried putting different numbers in and said that was the deal they said. I called them liars and left.

So it looks like I won't be going back to this place. Sucks to because I have to go back next week to get my soft top put on. It's already paid for so it wouldn't hurt them if I canceled.

It's disgusting dealers act like this.

Since all dealers are independently owned and operated, they only have to follow the minimum standards Chrysler has contractually held them to. Five gallons of gas is the minimum standard Chrysler puts out there. Its actually listed on the window sticker.

Now I'm not saying that what happened to you was fair by any means. My Wrangler came with a full tank of gas, as it should have and yours should have too.

I would not go back to that dealer in the future and next time I wouldn't buy a vehicle from a dealer that makes an excuse as to why they can't put a full tank of gas in it. Any dealer that only does the bare minimum for a sale will only do the bare minimum on service also, not who you want taking care of your Jeep.

Shame on Chrysler for not setting their standard for dealers higher in this regard. Ford, GM and Toyota all REQUIRE their dealers to put a full tank of gas in every new vehicle sold, Chrysler should too.

Call Chrysler customer care and complain. Maybe if enough people do, they will change their policy on this.

I got some gas for ya...

I have never gotten a tank of gas out of any vehicle that I have purchased???

When I was Jeep shopping for my 2013 included in the invoice price was $17 for 5 gallons of gas.

I guess I'd rather go get my brand of choice rather than have them put in some cut rate "dealer" special gas anyway...

Please leave mine empty...

First of all, I bought mine in feb and got a tank of gas. They screwed me in other ways though. I bet you they charged me for that gas somehow though.

Second, how much profit is the dealer making? You're telling me they cant give $50 of gas? Hell, just jack the price up $50 and claim they're giving you a deal.

Hell I bought a hyundai a couple years ago and they gave me 1/4 tank of gas. But I got the first oil change for free. Well, that's about the same value I suppose. The jeep dealer didn't give me a free oil change. But the jeep uses more gas.... so.. meh.

dealer special gas? any dealer i've ever been to has just taken it to a nearby gas station. On my hyundai the salesman just had me drive him up to the gas station and he put 1/4 tank in for me. Atleast i know where the gas came from.

When I bought the jeep, I watched the guy drive it across the street to Meijer and put gas in it.

The dealers that give you free gas certainly do. It's worked in there somewhere.

Since my new one is sitting in a rail yard now for up to thirty days, I want to get the Jeep, if cheaper since they didn't put gas in it then better for me. I'll put my own premium gas in it to dilute the old "bad" gas and not worry about the quality. The first tank of gas is breaking in my new engine.

It's actually a question on the survey that you get from Jeep after your purchase...."did you get a full tank of fuel at delivery"....I would go back and ell them your will kill them on the survey if you don't get your gas....I promise you will get your gas...bad surveys can and do cost dealers a ton of money

I will do this. I also went to the dealer page and the jeep facebook page and I wrote to Chrysler.

I told them how the very first place I had to drive my nice shiny new Jeep was to the......gas station.

Got mine in March with a full tank of gas. I had to go back to get my windows tinted and they put 7 more gallons in it. Some Dealers are not so good, but I have a great Dealer!
