fog lights with no switch?

okay i just bought my used 08' Jeep and it has fog lights in the front bumper. The dealer thought they were original but we cannot figure out how to turn them on. The manual shows a picture of the fog lights on the light swich and tells you to pull it out to turn on. My Jeep does not have that on the light switch (turn signal). Any input would be great because i cannot find an aftermarket switch anywhere to turn these on. Thanks.

What type of lights are on the front. "any name on the lights".

Easiest to just fallow the wires coming off of the lights. Are they hooked to anything?

Not uncommon for someone to put lights on and never hook them up.

Rotate the blinker stalk and turn on the parking lights.
Pull the tip of the stalk away from the steering column. My dealer didn't know how to do it either and it took me a while before I figured it out. It's not anything like any other switch I've had on any of my other 88 vehicles.

i tried that and the funny thing is the manual showed the emblem on the blinker stalk but my jeep does not have that on it. Maybe they are aftermarket and like the previous post said they just never hooked them up....

The fog lights look stock but does the X model come with that bumper? Maybe the bumper is from a Rubicon and like some of the posts said the lights were never connected. Try tracing the circuit and see where that leads.

the tires arent stock for an X model either. I am thinking someone had an X model at their disposal at some point and swapped wheels/tires and front bumper.
I would climb underneath and see if there are wires attached to the fog lights.

The bumper in the pic is the same one I have on my '09. Stock! Can we get a pic of your Turn Signal Stalk on your steering column, especially the end cap? That may help us out.

How about a Switch on the lower center panel, just under the Radio? Anything next to the Emergency Flasher or ESP Buttons down there?

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

This is not the switch I have in my '10 Wrangler. Mine has a fog light symbol and the end of the switch & you pull the end out to turn on the headlights. Should be simple to add an accessory switch though.

All that indicates a "swap"

If you want them hooked up, you'll have to remove the bumper and rewire, either with the SPECIAL conn's that the fog lights use or disassemble the lights (don't even know if you can" and rewire from there

You would have to wire in a relay sys"

Good luck
