Foot Peg Thoughts

Now that I took my doors off and got my justaddmud mirrors, I have been loving going door-less. Looking at maybe getting foot pegs just for the hell of it. What do you use and how do you like them. These are the ones I am looking at.

1. BCH JK Foot Pegs (Pair)

2. Amazon.com: New JK Jeep Wrangler Foot Pegs (2007 - Present): Automotive

3. RealWheels Foot Rest Driver Side, Black Powder Coated - RW-2361BPJ

4. Foot Pegs™ - for Jeep JK - Skid Row Offroad

I have the BCH one's... I like them, I looked at some others (can't remember the brand) But they touched the side of the vehicle and I figured over time they would put a dent in it.

The BCH ones go through the door pin hinge and then the other part rests on the back side of the hinge instead of touching the vehicle... the others went through the hinge and hit the side.. I'll see if I can dig up a picture to explain what I'm talking about..

The little black part on the peg on the front side of the hinge, that part comes back and in contact with the door hinge instead of the body while your foot is rested on it..

Been pondering some and thought about making some using replacement brake peddle pads (billit aluminum with small rubber buttons for grip. Those Realwheels ones look good.

Dont know if the BCH ones stick out far enough to catch on trail debree, Maybe its just camera angle in the picture. Then again if you don't wheel through the occasional trail with narrow trails it is a non issue. They look really great and the mount sounds like just the ticket.

Based on the foot peg positions (one above the hinge, two below and to the side of the hinge and one above and to the side), which do you think would make sense for someone 5'4"?

Sandwich all the pieces left to right, and tighten up,

Then drop/slide eye bolt into lower door slot and tighten...

I've had my Skid Row foot pegs one most all of the summer and love them.

However, there is one down side. My friends like to tease my about my Jeep Leg! Left leg is noticeably tanner then my right!

I got these and added and mounted them with eyebolts. Painted them black. I wanted something that would fold up. Just takes a flick of the toes.

I used a second eyebolt at an angle and some fender washers wrapped in electrical tape to angle it a little more inward. Super comfy.

I just don't like the way the fender flexes when I put my weight on it. Going to try to come up with something else. Bolt head on the back is also too close for comfort to the paint. I'll figure it out.

Rockabilly, I was thinking of using some sort of Harley highway pegs as well. I am quite comfortable with my foot on the step, would use the highway peg as more of a leg rest, so the "normal" foot rests would not work.

Figured it out as soon as I saw the finished product. Looks great, and the price is rite.

Before I got my JAM pegs I made one from PVC and carriage bolts. Then I soaked it in bed liner.

Most folks are using bicycle pegs.

I used a deep drive socket.

FSM Design

I just got the FSM ones through amazon. They're great. Sawtooth design looks cool and they're cheaper than most of the others ones I looked at.
