Foot rest for doors off?

Hope everyone is having a great day, quick question, does anyone have any alternate places to find a foot rest for doors off on JK?
The one listed on Quad from REALWHEELS is a little pricey and I am having trouble finding an alternate. Any suggestions? And thank you for your time in advance everyone.

Where do you put your foot when the doors are on?

I've seen people make their own foot rests for the TJ, actually this thread wasn't that long ago, I'll see if I can find it.

Thank you Daggo, yes my feet are at rest when the doors are on. I thought at some point I had seen someone with foot pegs that locked into the lower hinge when the doors were off, but I cannot find that particular thread. The foot rest listed on Quad also fits in the lower door hinge but it's priced at $49, I did not know if any knew of a alternate option.

From the footpeg sites I have seen you don't want to put much pressure on the JK hinges, they don't seem to be quite as sturdy as the TJ's were. I don't need a fotopeg, the hinge hangs over enough for me to put enough of my foot on to relax.

These are the ones I have and I love them. They have some rubber on the stop so they won't chip the paint.

I can't find the pic on my phone anymore, but I drove past a wrangler that had horse stirrups hanging. Guess I'll give them credit for originality.

Did you tell him it's a Jeep, not a roller coaster and you'll put you foot wherever you damn well please? Does he give people crap for resting their arm on the door when the windows down? Some cops just irritate the hell out of me. I guess motorcycles should come with full leg guards or something.

Sort of find that hard to believe that a hinge can hold a 60lb door year end and year out but not hold up with someone resting their foot on it

^^^Well, if you force your foot against it like your lifting weights or something, then yea, but as a foot rest, you'll be fine.

I can see his point of view though. Not only as a safety issue but with your legs spread out and something was to happen quickly, it seems that it would be harder to react with your body spread apart then when your driving normally

This is a confusing thread, I'm having a hard time imagining driving along with my foot hanging outside. Although, the JK's are wider, so perhaps this is only a problem with earlier models?

Not sure about most people, but I brake and accelerate with my right foot. My left foot is the one on the hinge. Most cops I see are either on the phone or messing with their computer while driving.

LOL, we DO get booked for having our elbow hanging out the open window! Besides the cops having a go at us for our foot hanging out the door, would have already been booked for having the door off anyways!

Oh, pretty pointless in a RHD I guess since thats the foot that should be on the accelerator... Damn..

Its probably from riding trails too much, but even without doors I do not like to hang my feet outside. Use the dead pedal.

Wait, what?

Why would you want to hang your foot outside the door?
