For those of you that have had your heads replaced

(I dont want to read through that huge ticking post)

Did they replace just the one ticking head or did they replace both as a proactive strike? If only one head was replaced, did the ticking come back in the other head?
I just got the P0302 today and Im going to bring it up to the garage at lunch. I dont want to have this one replaced now and be out of a car for a week then in another 5,000 mile, or whatever, have the same thing happen on the other side.

Im on the way to work and I get a check engine light on and think "damn, this better not be what I think it is". I check the code when I get in to work and sure enough, BAM P0302. I didnt notice any ticking or rough running or anything. Just tossed the code out of nowhere. Boo

Left head 7000 miles ago with no problems after. But I must say I never had any cel codes, just loud ticking. Have not any other problems.

its specifically the driver's head that is the problem. They only replace one head. Still, if its your first visit, they are going to flash your computer and send you on your way and you'll have to come back if the code returns.

Nope. Just told them the code and they are just going to replace it. They have the head in stock too, so should be finished by Monday at the latest.

Left head replaced at 8k miles with loud ticking (no CEL). I have 20k now and it still sounds quiet. It runs fine, other than a slightly lumpy idle that introduced itself at around 2k miles. I've noticed this in other Pentastars I've driven.
