Been looking around for a while trying to learn as much as I can. I found a 2007 Jeep Wrangler X that I've been looking to buy. It has a Magnaflow exhaust (not really sure if its SS). It also has a lift but not sure what type. How can you tell what type of lift is on the Jeep and how many inches of lift it has? Do I measure from the ground to the fender?
The Jeep feels stiff and would like to soften it a little. Can that be done through different shocks? Looks real clean.
Buy new! Looks pretty clean. Can you not ask the owner about the lift? Looks like a leveling kit or maybe a budget boost? How good of a deal is it? Have you compared to what you can buy one new for?
op, find something newer. these things hold their value like crazy with is great for someone who already has one, not so much for you.
$10 says that's a spacer lift. also curious why it has sahara wheels. makes me feel like it had upgraded wheels and tires and probably saw some trails and the previous owner got a new jeep and wanted to keep his nice stuff so he went on craigslist and found that set.
Agree. Or at least a used 2012. $21k is around what I paid for my 16,000 mile almost-loaded 2012 via a private sale and new ones were about $6000 more overall (incl all TTL).
They're asking $18,900 for a 2007 with 67k? I would find just a few extra thousand (or if you're financing your payment would probably be close to the same) and buy a brand new Jeep with 0 miles. 67k miles is 6-7 years of driving for me. So if you buy new that's 6-7 more years you will be able to keep the Jeep.
I negotiated the price down to $15.5K. Can't afford new. Is it that bad of a deal? Six year old vehicle w/67K which comes out to about 8K miles per year? Looks clean with no signs of damage underneath.

I see the tag says Baker , are you buying it from Baker in Princeton? If so they are great people. I have my Jeep serviced there and they are very knowledgeable about Wranglers. Their service manager builds some custom Jeeps which they sell at a premium on the lot. I would ask to have them walk you through this Jeep to review the add ons and specifics before buying. good luck.
Which rear axle does it have? Early 07's had the dana 35... vs the better dana 44.. again if you don't plan to go off road, not a big deal... other wise your looking at big bucks to upgrade. Also for what its worth.. for that same price range if you look around you can get a TJ rubicon model.
I was at baker today making a parts drop off ..i bought mine from baker .got a good deal.some of the 07's came with 17" sahara wheels my mothers jeep has them .great color to
i paid 19950 out the door for my 10... mine was in much better shape and had only 29,900 miles with a clean car fax and every GOOD option. i looked for months trying to find the right used one because i thought i couldnt afford new and when i look at my payments now and how much i still put in the bank, i realize i could have spent the extra 3k on a new one. still happy with my purchase as theres not a lot out there in my set up so its pretty unique but id definitely keep shopping
I have the same regrets about not going Rubicon. Huge price difference between the bottom lines of the Rubi and the Sport, but it wouldn't have made that much more of a dent in my monthly payments!
I hunted up a jug of this on strong recommendations from a thread here last summer.
Gotta say it's been a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
While I'll use it up, I ain't buying any more of it.
I did a little compare post last fall on about 4 or 5 different products on what they'd done for my own JK.
So far, the stuff from 'Mothers' has been by far the best, but I ain't done shopping yet, and won't laud any of them. Except if they are a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
Some of them are just plain waste of time/money/effort.
Went out shopping today and found exactly what I was looking for. As soon as I get home I'll post a picture. Now I need to make it mine but don't know where to start. It did come with a hard and soft top.
One thing I did learn from this is that all Wranglers drive and feel different.
Did You buy new? Great looking Jeep. We wound up buying new after shopping both. Everyone wants so much for used- even 60000-80000 mile ones it just doesn't seem worth it for how close the price is for a new one. We bought a 2013 JKU Sport 6sd.
I've been driving jeeps 20 years, just bought a new rubi and I still get that grin... That's just satisfaction oozing out.
