Found an amp that fit!

Been trying to come up with an amp that would fit under the passenger seat that would be powerful enough, but not too damn huge...I bought this Pioneer off some guy and it couldn't have fit better. It was just big enough to slide between the seat frame rails and it has a lip around it with holes for mounting...All I did was zip a couple self tapping screws into one side so it wouldn't slide out and put a piece of double sided tape under the other end so it couldn't ever rattle....worked out pretty good and now I don't have to worry about water on the floor gettin on my amp

Nice.... Perhaps you could share the model # so others would know what to look for...

I just bought this setup

MTX TNP212D2 Dual 12" Amplified Terminator Loaded Sub System

Amp looks very small it is a little under powered for the subs but all of the reviews indicate that i won't be disappointed.

I have listed my infinity Basslink powered sub in the for sale section

Thought I forgot somethin. it's a Pioneer GM-5100T. Wires ran fine. Power wire runs up the pillar and through the padding on the passenger side roll bar, (had the amp in the back origionally) the high input wires run down from the sound bar...and it's grounded to a ground lug under the seat that Jeep put there from the factory.

The new Powerbass ones are tiny compared to most.

That's a nice clean install, likely not even visible with the top and doors off! Did you happen to check that the amp is ok to be mounted upside-down though? I know that many amps do not recommend being mounted that way since the heat rises away from the heat sinks and into the circuit board. You may get enough air flow to cool it though, something to keep an eye on in my opinion.

I don't run the amp full out and hardly ever really have music CRANKED way up...and the amp is powerful enough so that I don't have to have it turned up a whole lot to power my Kicker, so heat isn't too much of a concern. The hidden aspect was a big plus. You can only see it if the passenger seat is forward and slid up...no wires can be seen and even with the doors off you can't see it from the side, so if I'm gonna have top and doors off all I gotta do is leave the sub at home and that's one less thing to worry about

Yeah, my JVC amp wouldn't fit either so I picked up another one.
