Was in Moab and Canyon Lands and ran my new favorite trail - 7 Mile Rim in Moab. Spectacular views and lots of fun challenges as well as a cool arch and a cave / tunnel. Steel Bender was a blast as well.
Was pondering if I should go down to 2" of bump stop and this answered my question - tire was fully stuffed and rubbing. Need flatties to use any less bump stop.
Nice shot! I've been considering Bushwacker fenders, but I really love the look of Metal Cloak. Free shipping this weekend and I still may pull the trigger...
It's the Game Changer suspension with the Rocksport shocks and 35" KO2's. I'm running 3" of bumpstop now. Metal Cloak recommends a minimum of 2" to keep the shocks from bottoming out.
With Bushwacker flat fenders I could go to 0" front bump stop on 35s, which gives decent front wheel travel and makes a big difference off road as to how often you bottom out the front. Rears still need 1.8" bump stop, as the tires contact the frame around then.
Now if only the shock manufacturers made a 14.75" shock for the front...
There are shocks in the 14.75 range, but shocks that short have a limited stroke. You're much better off running something in the 15.75 - 16" range and running a 1" bump stop so you get some extra droop out of a longer stroke shock.
