I once jumped a broken heater switch in our humvee with a pair of vice grips and an MRE bag. Technically unimpressive, but the sergeant was pretty excited. Getting your heat working when you are in the field in Germany is always pretty kewl.

Speaking of which, wow. Can you imagine what driving one of those babies in Korea or Germany is like during the winter?

My 1942 GPW had pneumatic wipers, too. I had the manuals on the stock windshield for the soft top, and the pneumatic on the windshield for the after-market "Arctic hardtop" that I ran most of the time - as in my avatar.

This picture may help a little bit. Definitely 7 slot grill. This is of my grandfather when he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. I guess this is where I get my love of Jeeps from.
