Frankenlift complete...and a success!

I think we got it right in terms of height gain and level stance. Got together with another local Jeeper (Jason) who went over an above the call of duty (so to speak) by helping me install my lift. We setup in his heated garage and he had everything on hand to get the job done as well as the expertise. All told, I'd guess we spent just over 2 hours and it went really smoothly. Jason, if you see this, seriously, thanks again man!!!

Kit wise, we installed 18/59 Rubi unlimited springs, new Skyjacker shocks, and 3/4" Daystar spacers in the front end. I didn't measure but I'd say we are something in the 2+" zone in terms of the lift. I love it and think it turned out exactly as hoped. What's really nice is that its a true suspension upgrade. Ride better than before with no dive or roll in the corners and straighter steering (we adjusted this before we finished up).

Thanks guys. I had 14/55 on there prior. The wheels are MB 72s 15" with Duratrac 33X12.5X15" rubber.

I was thinking of doing this same type of lift but with the 19/60 coils. Looks great.

Thanks for the compliment and inspiration for the idea Mike. You're right about the cost, only spent about $300 total which leaves some cash for discos and brake line relo brackets. Me = pretty stoked.

I checked it tonight when I had to run a few miles to the store and it hovered between 16-17 mpg so again, I was nit unhappy at all.

Thanks, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Let me know how it goes. I really wanted the 19/60 coils but settled on the 18/59s and looking back, I'm now glad as I feel like I got exactly the lift height I was hoping for. Good luck and have fun with it.

You don't technically need to relo brake lines or anything do you? Interested because I will possibly be doing this really soon

Thanks. No, you absolutely don't need brake or track bar relos with this setup. I stared at the back of that thing for I don't know how long after it was done and if the track bar is off back there, its too little to be noticed. In the front, it's spot on which is pretty expected with this set up. On the brake lines, the fronts had lots of room (enough to run disconnected with no problem). On the back, they are fine as is but I probably wouldn't have been able to get a spacer in there along with the coil without moving the brake lines.

Thanks Mark, I knew you'd be interested and in all of my excitement to get the work going, I completely forgot, sorry man. When do you plan on doing yours? Possible ride at Southington next weekend ?

Terry, we did not loosen the track bar or control arm, just disconnected the sway bar links and flexed as necessary to squeeze them in. With two people it was no problem,but it would have been tough with just one for sure.

You said you DID NOT loosen or even touch the track bars or control arms? Some say you do, some say you don't. Not sure waht to believe on that. As long as it rides well, why bother, right?

I may be able to go to Southington, but only if you go Saturday. Gotta work on Sunday and promised a guy i would trade shifts with him, so it's 16 hrs on Sunday.

It's true mark, didn't touch them. I know some say to and I can understand the reasoning but we did it without loosening them and it worked out just fine. I DUI stare at the back end again this am and think my track bar is FF just slightly. You have to be really anal retentive and look hard to see it (as in if I asked someone else to tel me if the back wheels looked evenly spaced, I'd put huge money that they'd say know). Loosening thie track bar wouldn't have fixed that issue anyway so if you ask me, I say let it rip and only unbolt what you need to. Obviously based solely on my limited experience with doing this.

Next weekend, I'm th e opposite. My middle sons birthday party is Saturday so I'm a Sunday potential if I go. Weve got lots of time so no worries.

There are some great people there Mark. Jason, who helped me out, is an NEO 4x4 guy.

Terry, I forgot to answer your other question on the spacer but I used it to simply level things out. Mike (MTH above) put 3/4" spacers on all four corners and got a nice level ride. I only did fronts. I'm not sure there's much exact science on this although theoretically, you could figure it out if you had the data. There's lots of ways to skin this cat such as 19/59 coils instead of 60 in the back or the TF level kit or a 1" spacer in front, with .5" in back, or....well you get the drift.

Thanks and yeah, I knew that . I had them off when I was deciding on just putting a rocker guard on but my two youngest sons had a tough time getting in. With the lift, it's even worse so I put them back on. The first pic was without them on either side, second has both reinstalled.

Btw, I love the look of your ride as well. That red is hot!

Hey thanks man! Got the coils from a forum member and the spacers/shocks from 4 Wheel Parts locally. Took it out wheeling yesterday for the first time and the kit held up great. I'm definitely a happy camper, I mean Jeeper.
