stick your head underneath and try digging around, maybe it will fall out on its own.
If not I would just get a replacement. No biggie...

One thread I've seen on this subject described an total tear-down of the dash to get stuff out (and it didn't sound anything like easy!!!), while others have had luck being able to fish out from the top or having the item work it's way out of the bottom of the dash on it's own after some bouncing around.

My JK is on order, so I can't verify this, but I've seen threads that recommend getting some small round foam weatherstripping/insulation at a hardware store and using that to seal off the gap. Good luck!

Coat hanger and tape. Be suprised what you will pull out if you are not the original owner.

Which side (driver/passenger) did it fall down? If it's passenger, remove the glove box. If it's down the center, fuhgeddaboudit! Mark W.

I saw a credit counseling thing once, where they recommend putting your credit card in the middle of a block of ice. The idea was that it was there for emergencies, but too hard to get to for spur-of-the-moment things.

Your method might be better. Some day, you'll be broken down in your Jeep, out of cash, and you'll say "hey wait a minute...I gotta credit card in here somewheres..."

easy enough to order a new one if it's your Jeep and your credit card......I'm a police officer and had the same thing happen in the Crown Victoria and someone's driver's licence.....oops !

If it's going to require a tear down of the dash, report it lost or stolen. You will get a new one in a few days. Tell them what actually happened, it will take at
Least a week.

Drive it awhile as I dropped something in the middle and after some good wheeling one day I found it on the floor. The moral of the story is to go wheeling and everything will be fine.

The big magnet thing was sarcasm...

It doesn't really come through when you're typing things, but I got so much of it that I can plainly see it

Lost my ATM card like that in my first TJ. Ordered a new one. Took 2 weeks to get it. The day after it arrived in the mail, the original one fell out into the floorboard.

I, for one, HAVE learned my lesson. Nothing goes up there that I care anything about losing. Besides, with the top/doors off, that card would be gone in a flash anyway. I throw my crap in the console.
