Freedom Top fit

How flush should the freedom top panels fit? I have a 2007 JK two door and no matter what I do, they don't seem to fit flush and flat with each other or the top of the windshield. Should they? Also, my hardtop lines up flush with the passenger side door but on the drivers side, juts out about 1-2mm from the side of the drivers door. Seems odd too. But maybe it is normal. In addition to the rubber on the underside of the panels and where they sit, there are black foam strips. Is that supposed to be there?

When I first bougt this jeep, I had no leaking issues at all. Then, a couple months ago, it began leaking from the center of the panels dripping into the cupholders. It also leaked at the center at the windshield, dripping into the defrost vent. The passenger side panel post on the rollbar has also leaked water across the underside of the soundbar.

I took everything off including the rest of the hard top, put if all back on. I also tried to straighten out the seal on the freedom top panels where it looked like the rubber was creased to bend the wrong direction.

I have not had anymore leaks, but the panels look like they are not sitting flush. They never have.

I have the rubber mats and noticed the carpet under them by the drivers door was frozen and is now wet that things have warmed up. So i think i may still be leaking somewhere. Usually when I open the door inthe rain, water drips straight down off the panel into the driver's floor mat where the panel meets the windshield.

I am the second owner of this Jeep and it is my first one. I am just trying to determine if this is "normal" or if I should be concerned and work on fixing it.

thanks in advance for any insight offered.

Your "T" tops and hard top should be "FLUSH" and even all around, if your drivers side is sticking out a LITTLE, I think you didn't put the PASSENGER side down first and you aren't aligning the "T" top location pin correctly-

Although there aren't many ways to mis-alignit-unless it's missing ???

That was kind of my thought. the darn thing only fits on there *one* way. I'll take some pictures too. Easier to see than describe.

Did some searches and it looks like they changed the panels starting in 2009. I wonder if those newer panels fit the 07 or 08?
