Unhappy Friends don't get it

My friends thought I was absolutely crazy when I traded in my 2011 Camaro, which I had only 1.5yrs, but I missed my Jeep.... I loved the Camaro... But I missed the 2007 I traded it in for.... I took a loss on the trade in.. So instead of getting a Jeep with all the bells and whistles like the camaro had. Those people had obviously never driven a Jeep.. So I wanted my Jeep so bad that I gave in and this 4 door Jeep is about as a basic as it comes.. No power windows or locks, no fancy navigation system.. It does have satelite radio, so I still have one perk... But I LOVE it, no matter how plain it is....

Only thing about it that bugs me is the tires/rims seem entirely too small for the Jeep. That is the one thing that I want to change... But I don't want to put a lift kit or anything on it...

What is the biggest tire rim combo that I can put on a stock jeep without it rubbing or having to alter other things???

Welcome back! I'm assuming you have the stock 16" steel wheels. A cost effective upgrade would be to buy a set of Rubicon takeoffs. You can find a set of 5 on CL for $1000 or less.

I put on a 2.5" Teraflex budget boost with Duratrac 33 x 12.5's and Crager 15" rims for $1250.00. Well worth it. Jeep looks awesome.

Welcome back! I just bought a set of 33" Goodyear MTR's and waiting for the new Mickey Thompson Classics to be delivered. I don't know why Jeep even offers the steel 16" on new ones...they should come stock with the 17" Moabs.

I totally understand why you did the trade though. The Jeep is the ONLY vehicle I've ever owned that I would buy again in a heartbeat!

I've always said that you should be able to build a Jeep from the ground up. I'm waiting on my Rubicon now to be built. Have new tires, wheels, flares, lift kit, lights, etc. Should be able to buy without fancy tires, wheels, flares, etc and pay for only what you need.
