Front and rear diff

Well I just got my front and rear diff resealed about 2weeks ago but I decided 2 do some late night offroading last night and what would u know the front diff is leaking again . So my question is how hard would it be for me 2 reseal it myself ?

First check the torque of the bolts. I could be wrong, but I beleive they should all be torqued to 25 foot pounds. You should work in a clockwise diagonal pattern when tightening the bolts.

If u get the torque sequence and spec the fluid change is a cake walk especially since it was recently done

Where is it leaking from? A pic would help. Normally when the fluid is changed, it spits out oil if it is overfilled.

little bit tougher to do if it is leaking from the pinion seal. It can be done yourself with the proper tools. I recommend a dealer service manual!

If its the diff covers I used lube locker gaskets they worked for mine, and are reuseable.

Looked like from the bottom of the seal but then again I checked it late at night , I'll double check right now and post a pic

Ok it's actually leaking from here . Although I noticed i can tighten and loosen by hand , should it be this loose ??

Definitely not hard to change your own diff fluid otherwise even I wouldn't be able to do it! I installed lube lockers during the last change, much easier than messing with sealant. I'd say there's no way that drain plug should be loose enough to loosen by hand... don't tighten it too much or you might strip it but fingertight cannot be right.

Who changed it? I'd certainly not go there again...u could always be a jerk and drive it till it locks up act a fool and get something for free. Or just look up the specs and tighten it like an honest person should.

Thats your drain plug and it has pipe threads, so it should be tight, all pipe threads differ but I'd make sure it was at least 25 ftlbs, I don't know if the manual specifys or not, but thats what mine are set at and NO lEAK

The diff. cover should be tightened in a star pattern,,,just like the wheel studs, or diagonal as Dag says, torque anywhere between 25/35 lbft--but don't go any more than than--they break !!

Thanks for the help guys , I took it back in and they added a little more lube and tightened the screw now my baby is as good as new and ready 2 go off road again
