Front bumper chop

Finally got my jk up in the air where it belongs! 2.5" teraflex coil lift on 35" duratracs. So my next big purchase will be regearing but in the mean time I want to do some inexpensive mods... I'm going to chop about a foot off of both sides of the front bumper to give it a stubby look. Just curious if anyone has done this before and if they had any advice for me??

Check out rough country, they make caps to give it a cleaner look after you chop it

I chopped mine right at the seem. No caps. Use a sawzaw with a metal blade and use tape for your mark where your cutting it.

Yeah just painted the metal so it won't rust. I'm eventually going to get a jcroffroad stubby. But I don't mind the look. It looks more like a true stubby rather then a midwith which I think the caps make it look like.

I took a grinder and filed the edges down so that wouldn't happen.

Hi Tigudiry,
Who makes that winch plate bull bar combo? Looks pretty good, just needs a winch!

same.

if you cut em all the way to the crush cans like that you'll lost the point where the plastic attaches to the metal. a few self tappers through the back work good nuff though.

This is about the 500th stubby thread BTW
