Front fender flare sagging/bent down

Hello all,

So I couldn't decide whether this thread belonged here on in the JK Tech forum; but I settled on this one. I sifted through several searches and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for; I figured that some, if not many, have encountered this issue after bumping into something off road. Basically, I rubbed up against a tree with my front passenger side fender flare. It now sags down and I'd like to re-align it. Have any of you had this occur? What is the common remedy/issue. I have had the clips all replaced and it improved the problem, but as you can see, it is still sagging. Could it be the metal support arm? The plastic support piece? Insights?
TY, Nick

Did you leave it parked with something heavy on it to warp the plastic?

Have you checked to see that all the clips are installed and none have broken? I remember someone posting at one time that they didn't have the correct amount of clips installed from the factory...

If you do need replacement clips, DO NOT BUY THEM FROM THE DEALERSHIP!!!

Buy them from amazon.
Amazon.com: 25 Jeep Fender Flare & Rocker Moulding Clip 68039280-AA Wrangler Unlimited JK: Automotive

Or if you don't want to wait for amazon to ship, ask the dealership for TJ clips, NOT JK clips. Someone here in Texas told me they are the exact same clips but JK clips cost $5.20/ ea. and TJ clips were like $1.20.

Good luck!

Thanks Star;

All clips are in place...I appreciate the link-no way I'd buy those clips from the stealership!

Is the fender loose and sort if flopping down, or does it feel like it's firmly attached just bent down?

Vacca, it is pretty darn solid. After I bumped the tree, clips were off. I had that re-done but it only improved the situation...

I hit a trash can at about 45mph and did something similar to mine. In my case the welds were broke on the metal arm and it was bent down (but still attached).

I assume the repair was welding the brackets straight and reinstalling?

That would be the only way to fix it. I installed Smittybilt flat flares that do not attach to this bracket. I just kinda bent mine back up and left it.

You probably need to have the fender liner replaced or the metal bracket that supports the fender in place bent back up.
