Yep, 2 weeks ago. Not too bad to install. I removed the plastic skid guard for the install and did not put it back yet. I don't see a need for it. It was a Curt brand. Holes matched up perfect, no drill install.

Thought about getting a front hidden hitch for a winch, but eventually dropped it since I'm not sure the class II hitches could handle that kinda pull on them...

Couldn't you just back your car up to the water and use the rear hitch?

I use mine for a truck extender bracket in the front and one in the back receiver and that gives me an instant roof rack for my 16.5 foot canoe. Easy way to haul ladders etc. also.

Curt 31432 Front Mount Receiver is the part number. I bought it through Amazon for 128.00 free shipping. This receiver can handle most winches with the winch adapter plate that goes in the receiver. You can use it in the front or rear. The most versitile setup you can get. Don't have to leave the winch in the weather and slop hitting it in the front bumper. The hitch attaches to the bumper and would have to tear off the bumper just like any other winch mount job. The winch plate can be had for around 50.00 and the are very solid and heavy material by Curt also.

Get an OLYMPIC bumper--($260) and you can do a lotta light work with the hitch

Light winch work to, but no heavy recovery-

I thought about a front hitch so i could mount a winch on a hitch reciever plate (saw one somewhere, quadratec maybe?) and that way I could winch from front or back and store the winch when not in use. I dont know if that is a bad idea or not as I've not seen anyone running a winch that way.
