Just had my Wrangler Unlimited for 4 days when the front wing took a knock and now needs replacing.
Is it a big job and are there any manuals available out there giving step by step instructions on how to do it?
Any advice would be most welcome.
Model: Unlimited Sport
In British English, the fender is called the wing (usually only refers to the panels over the front wheel arches, in modern cars, since the rear 'fenders' are more an integral part of the car's body shape). The equivalent component of a bicycle or motorcycle, or the "cycle wing" style of wing fitted to vintage cars which is not integral with the bodywork, is called a mudguard in Britain, as it guards other road users - and in the case of a bicycle or motorcycle, the rider as well - from mud, and spray, thrown up by the wheels.
You guys need to get out more. Of course a wing is a fender.
I don't know if it like all the other jeeps but generally there are about five or six bolts that hold it to the tub and four or five that hold it to the grill. The hardest part will probably be getting everything else fastened to it in the engine bay off. Maybe a brace or two inside and out.
Thank you for all the ammusing replies.
Sorry I wasn't clearer in my description, but what I meant was the front plastic wheel arch. It took a knock but wont spring back to its exact original shape, presumably there are support brackets holding it up which must be slightly bent?
