Your dealer gave you a great deal. Finding it new for under $100.00 shipped is normally about the best price I've seen. I'd be surprised if most dealers would charge anything less then $125. Unless you got it installed as part of your new vehicle purchase. They give good deals at that time to make sure you complete the purchase.
My dealer wanted $199 for it installed, to which I said no.

Wyatt Arp Dodge sells it on ebay for $84 vs $111 at my dealer. I went for the ebay sale.

The problem with that seems to be that what would take the average monkey half a day to install in the driveway seems to take the factory several weeks. There are a number of new orders that have been stuck in JB status for an eternity waiting on their appearance groups to get installed at the factory.

Wait wait wait... Am I reading this right? There's a locking gas cap that is actuated off the key fob? Can anyone provide me a link to info on this?

And I really wish my company was a paying advertiser on here!!! They've cut our forum sponsor budget though. If we were I'd show you a new fuel door that will be available hopefully around new years for JK and TJ's! It's not just another boring flat panel door!

Got mine for $87.75 as part of purchase. Will install myself, after "fixing" the chrome fasteners!

I have a question about this fuel door. I assume the screws go through the current fuel trim holder into the metal. Is that correct? I don't necessarily think I need a fuel door but I am thinking about getting one because when I fill up the tank on have the pump on auto fill while I wash the windows I notice that the "trim" sort of pops out or pulls way from the jeep body. Does anyone else have this issue??

The fuel door basket "snaps" in and then the trim and door bolt to that.....if its the mopar duel door you are referring to. The stock trim basket is discarded. Except for the inner rubber bushing.

What is the big deal with a little bit of chrome?

the same folks who remove or blackout the jeep logo just because it's chrome and chrome is bad because everybody says so right?

I agree that a fuel door is not a "must have" option. I have the Mopar one because, I liked the looks. I certainly find it keeps the mud out from around the filler neck, and we are flinging a lot of mud here in the NE after the last week of rain. If you like the looks, go for it, it's your Jeep.

I dont hate chrome, nor would i black out things like my taillights lol. I just like going for the "clean" look. Ive been in the whole tuner seen for awhile and i always like my cars clean, simple, and believe in functional mods. Ive always had a soft spot for jeeps so i finally picked one up and want to mod it in a clean functional way. I think the rig scene these days is turning into a "ricer" scene due to people putting on stupid shit on there trucks such as mods like semi truck exhausts from the tailgate to having 20 different brake lights on the back, blacked out tailights/headlights, too much chrome, etc. Mods like these are for people with no style and get the term "douchebag" thrown at them. But yea your right, those fastners arent that much chrome but im just a bit picky lol. Also to add to my rant, WTF was jeep thinking when they started to add body coloured fenders and tops. They look so much more SUV with that them and less jeep. For the people that want that why not just but a liberty or cherokee. They are starting to ruin the original jeep imo. Jeeps are meant to have the rugged offroad look. / End rant.

This isn't new, it's been that way for about 30 years. You forgot to include a separate antenna for every radio station.

I have the Jeep Mopar fuel door. High quality aluminum and looks great. Old fuel filler neck was somewhat difficult to remove, but after that installation was easy.

I don't let my dealer touch my jeep. They did wash it the morning after it got off the truck, and they didn't even do a good job of that. Glue residue on the windows and blue marks on the wheels. It hasn't been back since and I will throw their first free oil change coupon away as I already did it myself. I always tell them not to put their stupid dealer logos on, but they usually do it anyway. On a ordered vehicle they should always ask if you want their promo logo on your vehicle, most dealers just stick the dam things on. And then drill holes in your front bumper to attach some cheap stupid plastic tag!
You sound a lot like me, are we related?

Just installed an RR locking fuel door from ebay on my 2010 inlimited. Looks and works ok and got a very good price but the mopar does look better.

I got the RR......It matched up very well with the rear tail light covers.

Took less than 5 mins to install.

I like the mopar (my son has it on his jk), but this was $50.00 and looks good.
