Funky part on door surrounds

So I took off the top on Sunday and installed the door surrounds and eventually plan to install my Bestop Cable Safari Bikini which requires the door surrounds. One problem though, I've got this latch sticking up for the soft top (I assume) which appears that it's going to be in the way for the Safari Bikini. I don't see how to get it to lay flat but maybe I'm missing something. Any advice?

It hold the soft to in place while in the sunrider position and assists while putting the top back up. If you ever plan on using your soft top i would leave it on.

Yeah I really don't to remove it but I'm at a loss now. Guess I'll have to contact BesTop though I'm a bit frustrated that it appears my door surrounds won't work, guess time to empty that pocket again.
