Hi there.

Long time forum prowler....

Considering a few different models.

What does WF think of the new Chief addition?

Mostly just going to be a weekend warrior with my ten year old. Topless summers, camping. scouts, kayaking. Some mild to moderate off-roading on woodland trails including traversing some Alabama creeks.

The new Chief reminds me of a buddy's CJ back in high school. Medium blue with a white top.

I think the Chief would look stunning in Rhino.

Thoughts and Opinions welcome.

Thanks all.

I remember seeing the Chief concept vehicle around the forums and loved the idea of it.... seeing it in Wrangler form is pretty cool. I like it best in it's true Chief blue color to match the concept but I sure do love Rhino. Either way, I personally don't think it's a model I'd see myself driving around. But if you like it then why not?

bumpers. Those lame cheap unimaginative bumpers...
lighting. why not add some KC's on the A pillar or bumper?
wheels. if you are going to go retro, go retro.
square, short back seats
fold down gate
KO2's or similar instead of lame AT's

What I am tired of is calling paint and stickers - Special Editions. When they threw this out there, I thought, hhmmm. But what I see us getting is more dumbed down American crap, styling wise.

Love the color. On a rubicon.

Currently on fence with chief or Gobi. Tough call

You'll find a fair amount of hate here for the Chief edition... :tomatoes: As far as what I think about it, mine is sitting in a railcar in Toledo. :happyyes:

The great thing about Wranglers, is you can get whatever floats your boat. The Sahara base is a bit fancier than I would normally buy, but there was enough interesting in the package to sway me. I think Rhino would be the prettiest color, but it failed my test for being able to find it in a parking lot. I went with Chief. It was said last month when orders opened that the Chief ed. was also available in XP. I just told my dealer to order blue, so I don't know for sure what was available. I think that combo would be very striking, but I ain't gonna drive one.

As far as lack of options, it's not like you can't add just about anything to a Wrangler if you want.

I like fairly stock, I'm more of a "function over fashion" simpleton.
BUT! I think with a few add ons, the Chief would can be super cool! I'm thinking black top, black fenders, small polished wheels (no black rimmzzz), more tire than wheel, round lights, CB antenna. Just a touch of throwback. Wait, did I just fall in love?
I guess I'm saying, the color is too bold not to have some adders.

Get what you want and enjoy!

Rhino looks best imo for chief edition. Chief blue is too light for my tastes. Stopped by dealership 2 weeks ago to see color in person. I prefer a darker shade of blue...hydro or true blue from a few yrs ago. I like the wheels but other than that....meh.

Not a fan of painted fenders or hard tops. White hard top to boot...I gotta pass

There's a lifted Chief (blue) on my local lot in an unlimited. I'm not a fan of the color but it sure is pretty lifted and new. Probably about a billion dollars but it sure looks nice.

Pictures of Chief Edition in Chief and Rhino

Here are some pictures I took yesterday of Chief Edition in Chief and Rhino colors. Chief was in showroom and the lighting makes it pop. Not for everyone, but it really looks special. Rhino was on lot (just came off trailer) and it was cloudy out. Rhino looks grey/green/dark blue all at once.
