Future mod suggestions

Hey y'all,

So I am in a hell of a good position right now in that I am a mechanical engineering student and I want to do some hands on work this summer by working on my 08 Sahara 2 door. I will be working for the this summer in order to gain the capital needed for my projects, but I will have a solid amount of time before I go back to campus to fool around with my Jeep.

So far, my (significant) completed mods are as follows:
bedliner
2.5" lift (w/ new wheels and tires)
cold air intake
kc daylighters
front and rear bumpers
fender chop

Besides adding a winch, which is the first thing I'm going to do when I get back, I'd love to hear some suggestions for good projects that I can do in my driveway with a solid tool kit and some spare time. I take my Jeep off-road a decent amount, so anything that adds capability is definitely a plus. When it's all said and done, I should have a little less than a grand left to use towards modifications (including the winch) so please let me know what you would do given my position. I want to learn from these modifications, so the more intuitive the better, but I am honestly mostly doing this because I love tinkering with my Jeep!

Sometimes it's just the little things that make your jeep more enjoyable for on-off road. I would recommend some good seat covers. I just purchased some TrekArmor and they are great. They have additional pockets in the front and back in addition , molle webing. I would also recommend new brake pads and stainless steel lines.

I'd recommend sway bar disconnects, they're only $150 or so. Those plus your winch then I's spend whatever is left on recovery gear (straps, snatch block, d-rings, shovel etc.) and maybe a cb radio for outings with others

I agree that beyond lift and tires, it is the little things that make your Jeep most enjoyable. I catch flack all year because a corner of my garage is stuffed with all sorts of tops but this time a year everyone seems to enjoy (including me) that I have all that gear. Now I'm trying to build my door collection. I may start with a set of wood doors inspired by a young member who is building his own. :D
