I havn;t a clue what 3” lift and 35 is but my 2011 is averaging 21.4 mpg with just under 1800 miles on a 3.8L with 6spd. Then again I sort of baby it as a DD.....old fart here........

Is your speedo correct with the tire size? If not, you are doing bad math to get the mpgs.... And no, you should still be getting close to what is advertized, depending on how much weight/rolling resistance you added with wheels/tires/etc....

I get 15 in town, and 16-17 highway. I have a wilderness rack on top. No lift. 32 duratracs. Auto. 4 door. Not great. Not terrible.

Thanks everyone.. Just to be clear, I have a 2011 unlimited sport with a 3 inch lift kit and 35x12.50 18 inch tires. Speedo is fixed to match the tires but I still just have 3:73 gears. The dealer service dept tried to tell me that with that setup I can only expect 6 mpg.. I said BS I told them what u guys are getting and he said those people are lying.... I was like REALLY THOSE PEOPLE IM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.. I SAID BS.... I told him that I called jeep about this and they said to reflash the ecm..

On my 2010 2dr Rubicon with Auto and 4:10 gears I am averaging 18.7, that is around town, fire roads in the mountains (up to 9800 ft), some 4wd, and an 11 mile each way commute. Lowest I have gotten in 1500 miles of owning it is 16.5, highest has been 21. These are calculated at the pump, not going by the Jeeps computer.

I would say you would get around 14 with your current setup and moderate driving.

I dont drive it hard hell I haven't even taken it off road.. Its my daily driver and my dream jeep.. Just want to enjoy it.. And not stop every 150 miles to fill up at almost 4 bucks a gal..

Yeah, not sure what's up. Can't imagine 35's hurting you that bad. I have an '11 with an auto, and after having 5.13's installed, and running 32's, I am at 18.5 city and 21-22 highway. Also, I did use a procal to fix the speedo for tires and gears.

Hope I didn't overlook this in the thread, but did you buy your jeep with these additions or add them later? If you added them later, how was the mpg before upgrades? I would be concerned the problem may be deeper than just tires and lift. Im no expert by any means but figured it might decrease 2 or 3 mpg per gallon, not cut it in half! (Im averaging 17-18 in my stock Rubi unlimited). If you still have the stock wheels/tires, can you swap them out to see how it changes with just the lift?

I bought the jeep from them stock.. They sold the lift and wheels and tires to me and had it installed and it is covered under the 3/36 this dealer is know for selling the jeeps this way and have done it for years. Thats why when I asked them about the mpgs they said 17 mpgs per gal.. So ok thats what I am going by, now when I got it I asked them about the regearing and they said they sell them all the time with stock gears and have no problem with the jeeps like this.. And the do not recommend changing the gears.. So this is my very first jeep and lift and tires.. So I belived them.. I know bad move.. Any way I was getting like almost 20 mpgs for the two days I drove it stock..

i bought a 2007 Sahara with dealer installed 2" lift, 32 or 33 in Nitto tires with 3:21 and six speed off the showroom floor. I got 16 around town and between 16-18/19 on 4 lanes depending on the wind and condition of the roads. Went down to 16 during storms and wet roads because not enough ball$ to push it down the road. My new Rubi gets a little bit better at around 19-20 and I drive the pi$$ out of it. Almost got 21 once 20.97 . Good enough for me.

good luck, you should get better.

Hello.... I have a 2011 JKU Sahara running a 3" lift, 3.73 gears, and the same size tires as you. I am getting a little over 16mpg around town, and up to 19mpg on the highway. I also have heavy bumpers and a winch, as well.

Even the mileage you calculate at the pump is wrong, if you haven't re-calibrated for the new tire size. It will have you going less miles. Slower that actual speed on the speedo, and no way to correctly figure things out. Maybe I missed it, but did you have it recalibrated at the dealer - or better yet, buy the aev procal module... it will recalibrate the speedo.... distance traveled will be correct... and it will reset your transmission shift point... to make all more efficient. Sorry if this has been said/answered.... I'm working on 3 things at once....

No problem - I have the hard top on now. I will admit that it lost some "oomph" and about 3 mpg when I swapped bumpers and added the winch. It definitely is not sporty, but I just chuckle when I think about all the places that thing will go when I need it to...oh, and turning up the radio helps a bit.

Rhianon - Do you have a 2dr or 4dr? Just wondering how large your tank is because 370 is nowhere close to an average of 23mpg. More like 16 to 18 range.

Dalton, Exactly how are you getting your numbers? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that some of your gazintas might be off a little. Show us the numbers you are using.

151 miles on a TANK? I've got 185 on a tank and just now on the south side of half empty!
I freely admit to driving in the 'green zone' all the time but when I just drove home form a lot of "all around driving' I was showing 20.5 mpg on my data panel. <one is a Sport "S" with 255-75-17"s so its not like its that whimpy....

Do you know how many miles you drive in a week and does that jive with the 160 miles you are getting on a tank? Have you had the alignment checked?

Maybe they put the wrong imfo in or like daggo66 said, there might be a problem some where.
I had a 06 Rubi w/ 4'' lift- 33''s I never did reset anything to the tire size and I was showing 12 at the pump. With out resetting anything my miles and MPG was off. On my GPS I was showing 14.
On my 2011Rubi JKU ( stock for now ) I"m showing 15mpg on the dash.
I would take the jeep some where else who knows about jeeps and see what they say.
The last time I saw 8mpg was in my 1973 Jeepster Commando
