gas mileage

My girlfriend has a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport JKU that she drives back and forth to work. She is interested in a 2-3 inch spring lift, 17 inch wheels and 33 or 35 inch tires (possibly Nitto Grapplers MT or Goodyear Duratrac MTs). She is torn between 33 and 35 inch tires.

Can anyone share pro and cons on 33 vs 35 inch tires? How much will the gas mileage be affected?

For a JKU:

3" lift
35 MTs
2-3 mpg loss

The 2012 auto can push the 35's better than the manual 3.21. Rule of thumb...stay light when choosing wheels/tires. The duratracs will suit her better than the nittos's. expect a decrease in mileage like ESP said. Driving habits differ so a guesstimate is only an assumption. A close assumption.

I am surprised the previous posted did not suggest this:

Why be torn, get 34s! Toyo Open Country AT2, 285x75R17. You could use stock 17 inch wheels and spacers with these if you so choose.

ESP, you should do a chart with different Jeep starting points and build outs...sort of a mileage loss matrix if you will.

^thats a very good idea but other mods play a crucial role too. Hardtop vs soft top, weighted bumpers/winches. Too many variables ESP will go crazy doing so lol.

In my opinion, since she has 3.21 gears, I'd go with 33's.
