The width of the tire also comes into play as well as the manufacturer because some tires are heavier than others and both of these will have an effect on mileage. I'm running heavy 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers and do good to get 15 mpg but mine is mostly city driving. That's on my '13 Rubicon Unlimited with 3.73's and an automatic.

I have 35x12.50x17 Nitto Trail Grapplers and a 2012 JKU with auto and 3:73 gears. I get about 17 on the hwy and 14-15 in the city but I've also added about 600-700 lbs over stock with bumpers, winch, etc. Jeeps use GPM instead of MPG

I have 35's with 3.21, until I get them swapped. Never really saw a huge increase in mileage.
