Gate noise from 33" tire

I have 33x12.5x15 on mb tko's on the stock carrier. The wheel is on tight and doesn't move at all. Now after a few months my gate rattles pretty bad when I'm wheeling or going over bumpy roads. What are my options at this point? The setup it's only 6lbs heavier than the stock wheels and still less than a Rubi wheel. What's the cheapest fix for this? I'm afraid my gate is going to fall off going down the highway. Lol

Since the TKOs have a greater offset than stock, did you extend the little rubber bump stop on the tailgate?

I stuck a golf ball between my tire the bump stop, but it fell off, so I have to find a better way to extend it out.

Check your hinges

See if you hinges are the problem. There are some beefier tire holders on the market but they cost a lot (around $800-$900). For 33's, which I have, I upgraded my tire carrier from Jeep. The cost $149.99. Your Jeep dealership around your area should have it. The description is SB2743TA: SRC Oversize Tire and the code was PAL1E. If your dealership doesn't have them, call York Jeep and see where they get them (800-894-4970).

Daystar KJ09144BK - Daystar Tailgate Bump Stops for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

$14.99 extended bump-stops. Got a set myself and will be putting them on when I get a chance to swap out the wheels/tires I bought.

Go to your auto parts store and buy heater hose to extend your bump stops, used that now for over a year and it cost me all of $6.00.

I have bump stops already. The spot welds on the door are looking like they pulling outwards, towards the tire. The gate shuts fine. It just doesn't sound healthy
