Gear ratio

I am a new jeepster! I just got 2 inch lift from mopar on my JK, unlimited, automatic, Sahara, 2009. Got new 35in tiers from bfg. Do I have to change gear ratio with this modification? I was reading a knowledge base in Quadratec site and they are reccomending this. I checked with jeep dealer here.... he does NOT have a clue what I m talking about. Plz advise me if I have to.... then how to do that also? Which part/parts would be replaced by what new part/parts. Do I have to do re-programming of the computer aslo?

You need to:

1. Recalibrate your jeep to read the new tires. Without doing so your speedo, odometer, and mpg are all incorrect.
2. 35s paired with an auto tranny pre 3.6 is bad news. You need to regear. Get a reputable shop to do the work and go with a good quality set like Yukon gears or the like in 5.13 or 5.38.
3. Don't walk...run away from that dealership.

Welcome to Wrangler Forum.

Yes you need to do all that. Do NOT use the dealer.

Go with 5.13 front and back ring and pinion, master install kits, AEV procal and diff covers (if you want). Depending on if you have 3.21 or 3.73 now, you may need new carriers (3.21), if you have 3.73 you'll be good to go.
