You need at least 4.10 if you are going to run 35's

Sure, you can drive it but it's a dog and that's just on flat land.

One mans “dog” is another man’s best friend.

Meat – I pretty much have your same set up. I just scored a set of 4 Terra Grappler G2 LT285/65R20 E with 5000 miles for $300.
I’ve had them on around a week. I like them so far. Mine is also a daily driver and I will not be going rock crawling anytime soon. FS roads and maybe a little “lite” mudding is all I feel qualified for at this point.

Go test drive a bone stock Rubicon with 4.10 at a dealer. You will see what a huge difference proper gearing makes. Huge difference, even on pavement. The 4.10 Rubicon is the only Jeep bone stock performance geared for its tire size.

If you haven't already, program the tire size with a Procal or Flashcal. See how it feels. If you like the performance keep it as is. If you feel that it lacks or is struggling regear.

Despite claims to the contrary, you're fine. Save your money for something fun.

As far as I know if you are at 3.73 or above you don't need a new set of carriers. But if you are at 3.21 and want to go above 3.73 (like 4.10, 4.56, 4.88) you will need a new set of carriers.

You will need to change the f&R gearsets, and the front carrier. You can reuse the guts from your original carrier if the are in good shape, but you will need a new case. You can find them new for 80 bucks.

Sounds like your last Jeep was a 2.5L YJ...
I have never heard anyone describe 35s and 3.21s as you do. But being happy with what you have is great, just avoid driving a properly geared Jeep or it will quickly and drastically effect your happiness...

Thank you for your info.
and i'm little confuse about the carrier and case ?
I was looking Differential case.
What is the difference between carrier and case ?

Here is my list of the part to regear

1. Front : YUKYGD30SR-456JK
2. Rear : YUKYGD44JK-456RUB
3. 1 of Differential case

and i don't need any other installation kit since my jeep is new.
Do i need any other part to regear ?

Thanks

As I said, going from 3.21's to 4.56, you need to replace the carrier case as the thickness of the ring gear is different. The shop doing the job can use your original spider and side gears in the new case. Also, I would not reuse the bearings, or at least have a source to get new ones locally, just incase the shop damages them while removing them, JMO.
Here's what you need.

You do need master install kits - good shops will not "reuse". That your Jeep is new is irrelevant.

I'm actually having my 2013 Sahara re geared as we speak from 3.21 to 4.56, running 35" tires. Below is what I used

I purchased:
-New front carrier for dana 30 open carrier
-Master overhaul kits with timken bearings for dana 30 and dana 44
-New spider gear kit for Dana 30 Yukon
-Yukon ring and pinion Gears 4.56 for Dana 30 and Dana 44

Northridge 4x4 has some great deals going which include gear oil and all above for around $750.00. That's where I purchased my parts.

Sorry to jump in but I just got a quote today from a shop that apparently does a lot of gear swaps.

Initially I asked for Yukon's but was told from the shop that they have had some quality control issues with Yukons over the past few years. They suggested going with Revolution Gear and Axle and the prices in the quote reflect using that product. Anyone know of Revolution Gear and Axle? Good? Bad? I've never heard of them.

Would appreciate any feedback on the quote. Is there anything missing, anything you would do differently? OK as is?

Labor - Install gears - $999.00
Dana 30 JK Front Carrier no spiders - $101.25
JK D44 Rear master rebuild kit - $175.00
JK FRONT Dana 30 master rebuild kit - $150.00
Superchips flashcal - $179.95

Note/Title
$999 GEAR PACKAGE INCLUDES FRONT AND REAR GEARSET, LABOR FOR GEAR INSTALL, ALL NEEDED FLUIDS AND MINOR
INSTALL KITS. (Minor install kits consist of shims, ring gear bolts, crush collars if needed and pinion nuts.)

Parts $606
Labor $999
Total Cost with tax, etc. is $1,740

Here's my input. If your fine with the way it drives, great, leave it alone and enjoy your extra cash.

If you really want to do gears, it's a a great time to do lockers, add 800 per axle, well now that we added lockers better do axle shafts for the added stess, crap add another 2700, need driveshafts too, 800. And you are still stuck with a funky little 30 that will shear gears off the first time you put it in 4 low, reverse and pull on something...

So, moral of the story, your happy. Drive it.
