Gecko Green

Ok, first I am new to the site! Hello everyone!

I messed up big time. Before leaving for the summer I fell in love with the wrangler unlimited and was dead set on purchasing an orange crush or gecko green when I got home from a 3 months summer trip.

Well now I am back and realized they stopped making these. What the heck! Now I am lost at trying to find one. I really wanted a new one which is seeming to be impossible.

Would your advice be to buy a white or black one and have it painted green or orange?

Thank you in advance for any help!

They are out there, just search on auto trader, limit you search to a four door green and some will pop up like this one

The problem is I think I want to buy new and this clearly doesnt seem to be an option

If I buy new I can get the options I want and then paint it. I have never painted a car or had one painted. Does this seem ridiculous? Or is it a reasonable possibility?

I share your enthusiasm for gecko, but I don't think painting a new vehicle is a great idea. It's possible but to do it right would mean completely disassembling the Jeep and putting it back together. That means expensive and probably lower resale. You could vinyl rap it for about 2000(I think). You would still see the original color on the inside and door frames but when you're done just peel it off and you have a perfect black or white Jeep to sell.

and gratuitous gecko

We had the same issue finding our Gecko. We ended up taking the train to pick it up, and the dealer paid half the tickets. Not bad considering it was for a family of 5 and a 6 hr train ride. We did find two closer, but the dealers refused to discount them as they knew their was not many left. I actually had one of those dealers who wouldn't discount in August contact me last week. He said they were ready to deal now. Lol

Thanks atman but when I clicked the link it said the car ad was gone!

I really appreciate all of your help guys

There are a few but I called them and most were sold or way too expensive with new mods that I really didn't need or want

I wonder if that one dealer still have theirs tha you were talking about

Right now I'm leaning towards the wrap! If have a nice painted car in the end and if I ever got sick of it I could take it off!!
