Just spoke to a friend of mine that deals with Jeep sales people in Detroit..
2015 will have gecko green in the line up..which is what I had been wanting!!
Patrick from Fields CDJ said there would be a NEW exclusive jeep green that's not used on any other Chrysler product. That makes me think it may not be gecko...
Any other "confirmations" on 2015 colors? Going this weekend to perhaps order a 2014 but none of the colors really do it for me. I want the bright yellow back.
Hydro will be back for 2015. A new challenger redline is replacing flame red and flame red is going bye bye.
Granite crystal has been a big seller, but Patrick wasn't sure if it would be coming back. He thought it might, but there was still a 'last month to order granite crystal' alert posted.
Check out the last two pages of the 2014 information thread for the latest color scoops.
Oh, Patrick also said there will be a new paint process for 2015. Not sure what it is, but it will be different....
I just read an article that the plant is at capacity for the paint shop because both cars are painted there (Cherokee and Wrangler) perhaps they are going to add capacity.
that would be cool if it came back. i wish they would hurry up and tell us the colors, im looking for a JK and not really crazy abuot the 2014 colors except the copperhead, but dont want 2 of them.
I imagine it's unlikely they'd resurrect an old color under whatever this new paint process turns out to be. That said, I'd push my dear old mom into a mud puddle for another shot at Rescue Green like my beloved '08.
Orange peel is usually associated with heavy paint, not thin paint. And usually a process that is not in tune with what they should be spraying. Thicker is not always better, more chance for large chips flaking off.
I think it's a marketing ploy by Chrysler... Change up the colors every year so people want a different color than what they have... Now to trade in my bright silver 2012...
That Geco is a really great color. When we got our True Blue Pearl (Navy Blue) I was really wanting black but my wife wanted the dark blue Oscar Mike. It's her's so that's what we got. Since then we have been seriously looking at the Geco, with lots of contrasting black I am beginning to think its my favorite color. So now it will be no more, that figures.
I'm on my second Flame Red and love it but... I would have gone Crush, Gecko or maybe Floyd had it been available. Funny how people comment that FR is a classic Jeep color, even strangers I meet.
Oh, no, first I wanted Detonator Yellow. Then they came out with Gecko Green. I'm on the trail of a green 4dr JKU today in fact. But I'll tell you what, if they offered Construction Cone Orange I'd be in the waiting room for a brand new 2014 right now! But the flame red is gorgeous too. So many colors and only one jeep, sigh.
Looking at some of the paint schemes on some of Chrysler's cars I wonder if those wacky Italians are thinking of a retro 70's two-tone look *cringe*
