Patrick from Fields CDJ said there would be a NEW exclusive jeep green that's not used on any other Chrysler product. That makes me think it may not be gecko...

??? I hope someone confirms that. I would buy one but all the sales people down here act like that color never sold.

Yellow would be what I would LOVE to see come back...or Orange

Any other "confirmations" on 2015 colors? Going this weekend to perhaps order a 2014 but none of the colors really do it for me. I want the bright yellow back.

Hydro will be back for 2015. A new challenger redline is replacing flame red and flame red is going bye bye.

Granite crystal has been a big seller, but Patrick wasn't sure if it would be coming back. He thought it might, but there was still a 'last month to order granite crystal' alert posted.

Check out the last two pages of the 2014 information thread for the latest color scoops.

Oh, Patrick also said there will be a new paint process for 2015. Not sure what it is, but it will be different....

This is a bit scary. I know other makers have tweaked processes to meet environmental concerns as well a cost cutting. All have resulted in paper thin paint finishes that scratch when the wind blows. One thing I think Jeep is doing as well as anyone on is the actual paint finish. Hope that doesn't slip in quality.

I just read an article that the plant is at capacity for the paint shop because both cars are painted there (Cherokee and Wrangler) perhaps they are going to add capacity.

From the 2014 information thread, specific to granite crystal, posted AFTER the color cut off post:

There was a thread recently where someone posted the percentages of current colors sold, and Granite Crystal was #1. And I was surprised by that. I live in St. Louis, and while not New York, it's a fairly sizable metropolitan area, and my GC 2014 JK is the only one I've seen on the road. Lots of billet, white, black, red, blue, and yellow, but no GC.

I've seen two geckos: on on the road, and a used one that my dealer had on the lot.

Wow can't believe flame red is disappearing again. Glad I got mine. One of the classic Jeep colors

I imagine it's unlikely they'd resurrect an old color under whatever this new paint process turns out to be. That said, I'd push my dear old mom into a mud puddle for another shot at Rescue Green like my beloved '08.

I don't think they could really lower the paint quality any further. The orange peel is pretty bad. They spray the bare minimum already.

Having said that, it is Chrysler.

I think it's a marketing ploy by Chrysler... Change up the colors every year so people want a different color than what they have... Now to trade in my bright silver 2012...

I am not sure that current popularity is that strong of a factor.

Color choices are decided years in advance, and are actually based on color trends outside the automotive industry. Fashion trends? Possibly a wigi board and a crystal ball are used too? Who really knows.

If their decision a couple of years ago was to replace Granite Crystal for 2015, then that's what will happen regardless.

That Geco is a really great color. When we got our True Blue Pearl (Navy Blue) I was really wanting black but my wife wanted the dark blue Oscar Mike. It's her's so that's what we got. Since then we have been seriously looking at the Geco, with lots of contrasting black I am beginning to think its my favorite color. So now it will be no more, that figures.

I was going to say if Pat didn't confirm it, then i don't buy it.....

that is truly the ONLY source i would trust about new Jeep wrangler info.

Some of these salesmen at these dealerships will try just about anything to get you to either buy something off their lot or order one from them

Orange peel is usually associated with heavy paint, not thin paint. And usually a process that is not in tune with what they should be spraying. Thicker is not always better, more chance for large chips flaking off.
