Getting Excited......

OK.... I'm not taking possession of a brand new jeep (brought him home about 4 months ago) But I am getting a lift

Breakover point kept me dragging on an obstacle course a couple of weeks ago during a workshop I took.... I've just added too much steel for the stock spring/shocks. Lost almost an inch from factory clearance. Then, add 10 gallons of gas, 8 gallons of water, gear, etc... and I really sink.
Anyway - at that Overland Rally I met an interesting fellow that is an engineer and drove for Ferrari. He explained in a very scientific/mathematic manner why he chose Full Traction for his lift on his new JKU Rubi... and why he had it installed at the factory rather than a shop. Made sense to me... so I'm headed to Bakersfield Monday. I'll spend the night, and it will be done Tuesday by closing (I hope)... or another night in Bakersfield - ughhhhh

Anyway.... so looking forward to this I'm getting the Premium Plus 3" SRS (silent ride system). Whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

That's funny..... they've been johnny on the spot with all my communications. In fact, two companies locally never returned my calls... and that was part of my decision to drive all the way up there...

I know they are at SEMA right now, but if you email or call Chris.... I'm sure he'll get back to you asap.

The desert will be nice this time of year in Palm Springs.....

I bought the same lift from FT. Chris and Steve were awesome, answered all my questions over several phone calls.

They also asked me a lot of questions about what I wanted to do with my Jeep, other planned mods, etc. From everything I've dug up on them they make very high quality products.

Their kits look well thought out, what do they use for shocks?
Did they give you a flat install price or is it by the hour? Include an alignment?

Bilstein 5100's is what they recommend, and I'm going with. Not sure if it's by the hour, but they gave me a *total* price for the labour, so I'm guessing it's not by the hour so to speak. They just must have it figured what it takes them to get the job done. And yes, it includes alignment.

I can keep you posted (if you'd like) as I get the job done, and then after. It will get a good *test* when I load up to make the move to Utah, as my jeep will be FULL of framed prints, museum cases, photography gear, etc... and all my stuff on the rack above... including all my camping gear... basically everything I'll need (and don't have dups of in Utah) for the next 6 months. Oh yeah.... and my buddy Lucas (arfffff) In other words..... LOADED... from San Diego to Silver Fork (Big Cottonwood Canyon, above SLC, UT). Then off to southeastern Utah - Moab/Canyonlands area for some photography/camping/fun... and check out clearances.

Sounds like just the place to "field test" your rig, I'm jealous
