I put the Gibson Metal Mulisha exhaust on this weekend. Super simple just one bolt to unclamp the exhaust and 2 rubber fittings that you have to pull out the hangers. That was the hardest part haha. well i took a video so you guys can hear it, i shot it with my iPhone and it was just sitting the the driveway so the video quality isnt the best. but you can hear it. I plan on removing the resonator under the driver seat and putting a straight pipe there. Any tips or suggestions about this? Or maybe i shouldnt do this? Thanks
Its so hard to tell exhaust notes through a sound clip.. a phone clip at that. Its like trying to buy a guitar online.. impossible. I'm neutral on it.. until I hear it in person I can't vote.
For listening to a cell phone sound clip on a cell phone I didn't think it sounded bad. Stock 3.6 exhaust sounds goofy anyway so it might as well have a little tone to it.
The whole "trying to get a V6 to sound like a blown V8" thing just doesn't work. Regardless if you put on a CAI, headers and free-flow exhaust. If you want that sound, drop a 350ci in your Jeep. Until then, you'll just sound like a slack-jawed, Fast 'n the Furious wannabe in a rusted out Civic with a "coffee can" muffler.
Exactly ^. 3.6 will never sound like a V8 so just do it for looks or for more clearance. Listen to these muscle cars in one of the best chase scenes ever (starts at about 2min in):
So how is it on a long uphill grade at 2000RPM ????
Kinda works on yer ears ?
The drone drive ya into a road rage ????
If so, and if ya have extension tips, try moving then as far out as you can, gotta get em
out passed the bumper...
Might help ya a little.....
good luck with it... "BH"
The exhaust isn't really that loud at all. Not very noticable while driving. Right now I don't have any tips on it because the huge ass ones that come with it are ridiculous.
I actually thought that big dual exhaust was a cool idea, but i wouldnt buy it because they would get crushed while offroading, and its ridiculous to have to take the tips off all the time.
