Girl Rant.

What the H is wrong with the suspension companies? Is my "girl money" not green enough? I've never been treated so poorly by ANY businesses in my life. "Come back later(after I set my appointment)", "we don't have time to break this down for you(I'm soooo sorry for asking!!)", "we're not interested in small fabrications ...we'll do your suspension but...hey can you hold on? *click*"
Terra Flex 2.5 wheels and tires...yes that's SUCH a waste of time!!!

Glad business is SO GOOD for you.....guess my Jeep is staying stock until I can do it myself.

You should do it your self then you don't have to put up with that. It's a right of passage for most to work on their jeeps and the first is usually a lift. You gain a lot of knowledge and the job will mean more to you because it came from your hands.

Call Stan at Jeep Performance in Redlands. He is "JPI1" on this forum so you can also PM him. We did our lift ourselves but Stan recently hosted a Jeep event and we met ALOT of Jeepers for whom Stan has done work. They were all happy customers. I was the only stock JK at the event (and a girl) and Stan did not snicker. LOL.
We called Tera Flex for specific questions on our lift and they were very helpful too.
Don't take any crap from the chauvinistic pigs. DO drive your Jeep their shop by once its lifted and say "thanks!". With your middle finger.

Teraflex does have GREAT customer service. On another forum, they actually helped me with basic lift questions... and it wasn't even their brand!

Awesome! Honestly I'd love to do it myself....collecting the tools and the parts is going to put me in the poor house tho. Lift party sounds like the way to go

Honestly- the Jeep is a good way to learn how to do stuff. I am married to a gear head & a verbose Italian-therefore I have way more knowledge about vehicles than I'll ever need. (I got engaged drag racing. No flowers for me!). I don't typically work on our vehicles though. I crawled under our Jeep during the install and said "that's it?". Our sportscars are cramped, low and complicated. Slide under your Jeep one day and have a look-see- its fairly simple and you'll learn quickly what is what.
And the forum, especially the local CA one, has a lot of very helpful people.
Although I maybe over-staying my welcome a bit.

ALWAYS be thankful when businesses demonstrate their poor service...BEFORE they get your business.

Better to walk out mad at them for not wanting your business....than walk out mad at yourself for doing buiness with them.

Next!

Glad business is SO GOOD for you.....guess my Jeep is staying stock until I can do it myself.
I had the same freaking experience - at 2 MAJOR off road places. One told me that the OME lift was no good for California, because it is made for AUSTRALIA

I met a fellow that worked for Ferrari as an engineer, and he advised that I look into the Full Traction Lift - and that I take my jeep to the factory to get it installed. Bakersfield is not all that far from San Diego, so I did. And boy howdy am I ever glad I did. They are the best, spent time with me, showed me everything as many times as it took for me to get a clear picture (I also had drive shafts done at the same time) and have never looked back. Email me if you have any questions..... Oh, I did the 3" lift.... last September.

And here's another one: Went to a motorcycle (harley) shop in Oceanside - to buy mirrors for my jeep (when doorless). The idiot tried to up-sell me to fancy ones - 'cause the cheap ones I wanted aren't udot approved for jeeps (as if the other ones are....) Needless to say - I just walked out a there too....

Those guys are Bastards......... Throw a mod party. You should get plenty of help and learn a lot at the same time. We have mod parties all the time here, i'm always learning something.

You enjoy it. Good luck

Ps: If a shop treats me bad or good i have no problem letting everyone know who they are !!!!!!

What makes you think this is out of the ordinary or because your "a girl"?

What you should be doing is saying 'thank you for not treating me differently because Im a girl', or were you expecting, as most girls do, to be treated differently because your a poor weak little girl who knows nothing about the machine she depends on?
