Glass headlight upgrade

Is there an aftermarket glass headlight available for JKs that uses the original H13 bulbs? I want the durability, scratch & heat resistance of glass , but don't need the H4 conversion +H4 to H13 jumpers. The Philips Crystal Vision H13 bulbs provide ample visibility for me.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't think there is but ask here: Automotive, Motorcycles Included.

BTW, H4s are better bulbs and an H4 conversion will yield better results especially with a good reflector like a Cibie or Koito.
H13s, even the best (Phillips Xtreme Vision), are intrinsically limited by their construction.

I am using the Hella H4 housing (glass) with a simple H4 to H13 conversion cable. It isn't quite like going to LED's but it is a noticeable improvement over stock.

Hella Part 002395991 - 7" Round High/Low Beam Headlamp ECE - 4 Wheel Parts

Truck-Lite Part POI96630 - H4 to H13 Headlight Adapter - Fits 2007 to 2015 Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited - 4 Wheel Parts

That gets you up and running for about $100. Then if you want to get a little better, you put in the Philips X-Treme Power lamp.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies/info.. I was just skeptical about the H4 conversion because the headlight circuit runs through the computer, not just straight from the fuse panel. Read reviews where hi-lo circuits were backwards. Fog/driving lights no longer worked. And H4 bulbs did not last as long as original H13s.

Those concerns, at least the DRL and lamp life are related to the SMS full voltage harness, not the adapter we are suggesting.

Good luck!

The best headlight solution for the money.

An H4 conversion with simple adapter maintains all stock functionality. A quality reflector like the Cibie with quality bulbs like the Phillips Xtreme series should satisfy all but the pickiest enthusiast.

I'd change the bulbs annually though. They'll still be working but they get dimmer with age. Fresh bulbs are nice; and you won't have to worry about one going out while you're driving around in the rain...

I've been exploring this as the next money spent on the jeep but still a little confused on the need or not for a harness upgrade.

Is it needed to get max benefit from an e-code lense? If it only brings marginal improvement over a good lenses, bulb & adapter then for my needs my research may be complete.

Appreciate anyone's thoughts on the harness

My understanding is the harness is going to supply the cleanest power, you'll get 100% of the upgraded lighting benefit. Without the harness I'd guess you're still getting 90%? If the new lights alone are 5x as good as stock, is that last 10% worth the cost / hassle? That's up to you

Cibie 082440 glass 7" round - qty 2
KC Hilites 6307 H13 to H4 Headlight Conversion Cables (sold as pair)
OSRAM - Night Breaker Unlimited H4 Super White Halogen (sold as pair)

$132.76 shipped from amazon

What a impressive difference from the stock candle lights, more visibility on each side of the road and greater distance down the road. This setup is plug and play, fits without any problems and is a very economical upgrade.
