Not a good deal, I'm paying $450 a month over 5 years with 3k own on a 2010 mountain that had a sticker of $32500.00 and I own it. Jeeps don't leave well because of the residual.

My jeep has a sticker price of 38,000k I have tire nd mechanical insurance ( if radio breaks or buttons fall or get stuck ect) plus the car payment so it's like 470 plus insurance like 800 for six months of insurance...

I have leased cars before but wouldn't want to lease my Jeep because of the mods. But saying that, you should check around on the insurance. But then too I don't know your situation with that. I have a fairly loaded Sport S and my payments are $499/month and insurance is $360/6 months

R u asking about insurance or the lease? It sounds like the deal is done...so no point in dwelling on it now. Just enjoy it!

Wow! I had the opportunity to lease a 2011 Wrangler Sport(2door) for $377 a month for 36 months with $1000 down. The only reason I turned it down b/c I just couldn't see myself leasing a vehicle like a Jeep and being easy on it. Plus my current car payment is $100+ less so I'll wait and just buy one so I can do what I want. Like the other guy said shop around for insurance. Sometimes your current carrier will match a competitor's price. Overall, if you like it and leasing is your thing, Congrats on the new ride.

i would have perferred to buy but i did not have the money , leasing does seem like a wait of money cuz it really is not yours , however if u buy i donmt know if youll get all those insurance tire , mechanical ect if you do it will probably be much more then leasing

To me, no unfortunately.
I am 28 (recent B-Day in Feb), my wife is 25...(turns 26 in August)

Our insurance: $725/6 months, and I pay it every six months in full (forget that monthly bill crap, I get it over with).

This is Full coverage on a:
1) 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimted Sport 4x4,
2) 2009 Hyundai Sonata SE V6 damn near loaded
3) And regular liability on a 1992 F150 supercab 5.8L V8(work truck, towing rig), all three have underinsured/uninsured motorists on them.

My Jeep payment is exactly $384/mo for 5 yrs (I actually have it set up to be paid every two weeks thru autodraft when I get paid, so more like 4.5 yrs or so), although I will more than likely pay it off sooner as I did with my wifes Sonata, its paid for as well, I don't care to finance vehicles more than 2 yrs, it gets too redundant. My interest rate BTW is 4.9% on the Jeep, that is a factor too for the payment. I traded in a 2001 4x4 Supercrew loaded Lariat truck for the Jeep, got decent coin for it, then put down 3K cash (was going to pay it off 50%, but decided with low interest, I would spend the money elsewhere).

These things coupled is what got my payment to what I consider "decent". I hope this helps.

Correction to my above post: $384/month is correct, but it is still 5 yrs (it's late, and the info just ot to my online banking a few days ago). Looking at how they done it is was [($384x$12)/26 bi-weekly payments]= $177 and some change every two weeks.

Leonel3,

If at all possible, I would really try and buy your Jeep, not lease it. I understand that not everyone has the money to chunk down on one (hell, maybe you do), but if you really begin to like it, and decide to buy it, you are DEFINTELY going to overpay, I believe, at the balloon payment time. At that point, it would have been cheaper to buy one on monthly installments rather than lease.

On the "Extra insurance" deal on radio knobs, tires, etc, they offered me insurance on every damn thing on my Jeep at purchase time, even the wheels if they got damaged by road debris. I told 'em no, its all a gimmick. I could pick up a wheel off of Craigslist for lots cheaper than paying "insurance" or whatever they call that gimmick. Again, good luck whatever route you take I still stand on what I said previously, not a good deal.

I checked several dealers they say 450-500 that's without tire or mechanical insurance , I live in new jersey nd our roads SUCK so the tire repair /replacement is key it's only $12 a month.. Let's say I go without it nd boom I mess up the tire how much is it gonna cost to buy a new one I'm sure more then $100

You can still get service plans and road side assistance for $12 - $20 per month. That is not something that is specific to a lease. So lets say that at most you will be paying $520 per month, that isn't that much more than the lease payment and you own it and earn the equity if you choose to trade it in.

Ohhh - I also think you are getting ripped on your insurance, I think it is more expense to insure a leased vehicle than a owned / financed one. So if you find an insurance rate that is $240 less, that pays for the difference between a leased and owned payment.

I leased a vehicle once... never again.

I would say no go!
I purchased mine and my payments are $284/month (6 years but I will pay it off sooner I put $1500 down for a brand new 2010 Sport at the end of the last year in December. My insurance a year is $850 full coverage (even GAP that they try to sell me at the dealer for $900/year, got it for $40/month with my insur.) So shop around, its a buyers market right now. Plus your Jeep will retain lots of value! Just looke around at jeeps that are 5 years old to see what they sell for. This is not the case with lots of cars and thus why leasing makes sense on a car to car basis (even though IMO its a waste of cash)
Goodluck!

Gap insurance is already built into a lease. Road hazard for 3 years costs right around 200 bucks thru chrysler service contracts.

Most dealers here in new jersey want nearly 500 that's without other warranties /insurances on it so I think I got a good deal considering what others in the area wanted

If you have Verizon cell phone they offer a $5 a month road side service plan. Not sure why they offer it but they do.
