Gonna be a little heavy here. But I like listening to LoG and All That Remains and stuff like that. My jeep is black and people have this stereotype, but I just ignore it. I'm told by strangers that I was stereotyped by them, but then after getting to know me, I am the nicest person they know.

Trying to decide on the first album I'll play in my Jeep when it arrives next month. Right now it's a tight race between:

Let it Bleed - Rolling Stones
Flashback: The best of .38 Special - .38 Special

Will probably side with Let it Bleed.

I usually listen to a variety of music when driving but my Jeep just screams at me to listen to country music, so it's either the XM country stations (Highway, Willie's, Prime, bluegrass, etc.) or the big 98 here in Nashville.

Anything other than that just wouldn't feel right.

This is completely subjective. Listen to what genre of music YOU enjoy

WITH that being said:

Heavier Music:
August Burns Red
Underoath
As I Lay Dying
Thrice
Killswitch Engage
Metallica

Hip Hop:
J Dilla
De La Soul
Action Bronson
The Dream
Kanye West
The Weeknd
Pharrell

Pop Punk:
New Found Glory
The Starting Line
The Wonder Years
The Story So Far

I'll never be a country fan, but it's okay because I understand how people find hardcore/metal music horrible. Never listen to Sublime (sorry, but they're terrible) and everyone should know that Nickelback isn't a real band. Don't be a sheep and listen to whatever is on the radio. Not saying it's all terrible but expand your horizons!

You can't get on to people for being sheep and listening to whatever is on the radio when you yourself list some incredibly poppy bands.

Sublime is a "No" but New Found Glory is a "yes"? I like both bands but how do you find NFG's early albums better than Sublime's 40oz to Freedom?

I think you actually just changed my mind... 40oz to Freedom will probably be the first album I listen to. Lord knows I destroyed my Sublime albums in my CJ7 in the 90's.

You clearly didn't get the gist of my message. Listen to what YOU like. Notice how I said "not everything on the radio is terrible". The OP is obviously looking for suggestions and while the real answer is "listen to what you enjoy", he wants our opinion, and that is what I gave. To each his own.

Depends on what you like
But if you are looking to turn heads on the trail or the Mall
pop in some Mozart and turn it up to 11
Just me, but have been known to do this when pulling up to construction site to do storm water construction inspection

It might just be nitpicking but I see a big difference between you telling someone what you like and telling someone what you particularly don't like. I can see how your opinion on what you enjoy being applicable to the post (That's the entire basis of this thread), but what difference does it make to someone else what you particularly don't like? Sharing opinions in that way seems like fishing for the exact conversation we're having right now.

Like you said, to each his own. If I saw you out on the road, your music and your Jeep would get a thumbs up from me!

I'm with you on this. I listen to Wu Tang and Biggie Smalls a lot when I'm driving around, along with some Pennywise and Bad Religion. I hate how people think they have to listen to a certain kind of music just because of the vehicle they drive.

Just because it's a 4x4 doesn't mean the song has to be ringa-ding-doo, 'Merica.
