doing my usual browsing of CL and discovered a guy selling all his suspension components off his 2011 Rubi. only had 300 mils on it when it got taken off.
Has shocks, springs and control arms, all for 100 obo.
Heard the stock rubi stuff is pretty decent and I have a bone stock sport. thinking this stuff might be worth snagging for this price.
Check your spring numbers and then the spring numbers on the Rubi components. If they are the same, you may not get any lift out of the switch. However, the Rubi shocks are better than the Sport stuff. The control arms are the same as far as I know.
IMO, unless you have something like 15/56 springs and the Rubi stuff is at least 18/59, I wouldn't pay $100 for it. Just me.
Thanks, ill check it out and let you guys know, I sent him an e-mail to check since his # wasnt listed.
so going by that thread I would actually get a slight lift from rubi springs if they are stiffer?
im guessing they will be since I have a base sport without a tow package or anything.
Talked to the guy today, he was at work and couldn't check the spring rates.
They are off a JKUR and it has a tow package so they should e quite a bit stiffer than what I have.
100 bucks for rubi shocks and a 1 inch or so lift should be worth it I think
Picked them up just now, the springs are 18/59's.
going to get a teraflex leveling kit with them. so that plus upgrading from 14/55's should be a pretty nice increase.
Interesting, glad that worked out for you. I guess I should post up my stuff on CL in case it can help someone else out locally. I have all the parts of my '12 Unlimited JKUR with tow package in a box stored in the garage with around 500 miles on them. Even a front driveshaft. I wouldn't mind getting $100 for all of it and having someone get something good out of it.
picture of my 11 jk sport after swapping 14/55 for 18/59. i'm running 285/70/17 tires on 17x8.5 wheels w/4.7bs. gained almost 1 1/2 inch lift. perfect for me.
awesome thanks for the pics! im going to do a leveling kit at the same time I do it.
Really love the stance, getting flares and new wheels and tires as well when I install it all.
