I have had this Jeep, my first, for just over a year now and have been reading this forum like a mad man trying to figure out all I want to do. You people keep posting stuff and my billfold keeps getting empiter but hey, fun as hell!!! Anyways I started with the basics
3" Zone Lift Kit with Nitro Shocks/Springs/Steering Stab/etc,
2013 Billet Rubicon
Ace rock rails, 2.5 teraflex coil lift, AEV Geo brackets, Rancho 9000xl shocks all around, 35x12.5x15 Wrangler MTR's on Mb chaos wheels, Bushwacker flat flares, 12k winch on Rough Country hybrid bumper, Spyder rear bumper/carrier, KC long range windshield lights, rock lights and some other happy crap.
What did you do to black/smoke out your turn-signals/parking lights? Did you buy those like that or use a paint? Jeep looks nice.
I used the spray on tint. That stuff is amazingly smooth to use. It took about 3 coats to get the color I wanted and that was it. When you actually need the light, it shines through like nothing is on it. Very impressed. I took the ones in the grill out since the grill was so easy to get off, the ones on the side I just taped up and painted on the vehicle.
Great looking rig! How do you like the RK hood so far?
I'm loving the hood. Waiting to find a negative comment to post on it yet but havent found one. The people working there I think make the whole experience even better. They have been super awesome.
Neg - They didn't pre drill the holes for the hood safety latch but it isnt something that is really needed but I did use mine. Not really a negative but it did add like an extra 30 mins to the install lol.
Time will tell the story in the long run but love it so far
Loving the hood. Is the ram air functional? Just for cooling the motor I mean. It also appears there are vent spots on the side of the ram air vent.
Tried going to the RK site but there are not photos of the different hoods for jeeps.
This hood is still considered experimental/developmental. Very few have been made thats why they are such a steal right now plus free shipping. I think JKRONNIE on this board actually got the first one and I'm not far behind him. As far as ram air goes I'm not real sure what it would look like on the under side but I'm gonna say mainly looks. More intelligent people WHO ACTUALLY HAVE AND KNOW HOW ITS DESIGNED can give you the details on that part. I know when you spray water in it the engine isn't wet so I'm assuming not a lot of air gets thru either.
Looks good! I like those eyes! Makes it look mean! Does it cut down on the headlight any or does the light shine through them?
I had to put several coats on to keep lights from shinning through, like 15. Technically yes your covering lighted area up but neither if us could tell a difference. We werent going to keep it if we lost light. But its great. Gets a lot of comments
It's both lol. It's a custom kit. You can get every piece for this at your local hardware store. Search the forum for grill mod and you can see a few guys that have really put some detailed instructions on this mod. I went o store to get the clips, the zip ties, and the gutter material (have to buy it in a roll, and I was near $40.00. I found a do it yourself kit for $30 on ebay and it came with just enough of everything to o the job and have no waste at end. Very very simple mod. And looks great. You can paint it if you want, I just chose to keep my theme. Does not hurt temp at all. I let my glue set for 24 hours, other than that this mod took a total of 2 hours from removal of grill to completion.
