Got bored.. Inspired by others... Painted wheels

Web had the stock rims just laying around so the misses and I decided to try painting her rims like this guy did.

I personally would have never done it if she hadn't taken the time to tape them off.

The spare,

Two spray cans of touch up paint for 18 bucks total and here is the finished product.

Thanks JEEPNPR for the idea.

That looks great!!! Now you got me thinking of doing mine! You clear coat them as well?

I've seen the pics of people doing the rhino liner on the rims. I don't like how it looks due to the stock rim looks. Just doesn't look right.

But painting the area isn't a bad idea. Does look great with the silver contrast

Thanks folks, it was a fun project to do.

I did put 2 coats of clear coat on them. I sprayed a little area on the back side of the spare that came with my TJ to see how it was going to do. Gently tried to scratch the area and it seemed to be pretty durable, not real easy to scratch.

I like those blue lug nuts. I haven't seen them around here. Do you have a link in case google comes up empty??

I just used Google and found plenty of them. There are even many on Ebay. I dont think you will have a problem finding them. If you have a local speed shop you may want to try there also.

As I was scrolling down, I thought you had painted the entire wheel blue for a second.....

I am glad you scrolled on down. I do not like the all blue look. Taping them up that way gives you an idea of what they would look like, kinda sucks.

I LOVE the color of her jeep! There is one this color that runs around here and it was love at first sight for me. Since they don't make it anymore, I went with the Deep Cherry Red. The Cosmos Blue is nice but I'm a sucker for metalic paint.

What is the actual color name for this jeep? Either it's as elusive as the Sahara Tan or they just didn't sell many in my area. Probably a good thing for me though....seeing these all over the place would give me a serious case of color envy. lol
