Got my new wheel/tires today from DTD (Pick up JKU on Fri) - Pics

Really excited. Got all my 5 tires/wheels from DTD. Last two came in today. The first three had come in last week. I will be picking up my JKU on Friday

Really like these wheels and DTD were really nice to deal with. I actually changed my order after they had shipped some of the wheels and they worked with me and changed it with no extra charge. Way to go DTD

In the last picture, I placed the tire next to my wife's WK. Wow the tires on her Jeep look really small when you compare them.

Wheel: Level 8 Tracker (16 x 8.5, -6mm Offset, 4.5 Backspace)
Wheel Sizes By Type - Discount Tire Direct

Tires: Wrangler Duratracs 285 x 75 x 16

Bought the entire package from Discount Tire Direct (No TPMS Sensors)

Total Cost: $1,797.00 - $100 (Treadlightly) = $ 1,697.00
Plus whatever I can get by selling my OEM Wheels/Tires

Looks great, man.

Love the pic of your new tires next to your wife's. Wanna really tick her off? Tonight at dinner, make childish "squeak-squeak" noises until she takes the bait and asks what the hell is going on. Then, as calmly as possible, say, "Oh, that's the sound the training wheels on your Jeep makes."

Then run for it.

Those look great, can't wait to see them mounted. I think I am going to go with the level 8's in 15", I was a big mb72 fan, but I have now officially converted. Don't be shy with the new pics when you pick up your new baby, and congrats!

Thanks. I prefer the concave shape of the level 8 tracker as supposed to the flat shape of the MB 72s. Oh yeah you guys will be seeing a lot of pics this Friday.

I know what you mean. I prefer the Tracker style a little more than the MB72 as well. However, the 3.33 backspace on the 15" version is what is keeping me away from them. For me, even the 3.75 of the MB72s is borderline. Leaning more and more towards the Black Rock 909s with their 4.00 backspace. I know it doesn't seem like much, and its not really, but just the way I feel. I really wish the Level 8 Strike 5 was available in 15" with a 4.00 backspace or so.

The 3.3 BS on the 15" level tracker wheels was another reason I stayed away from the 15" wheels. Didn't want the hassle of dealing with the tires sticking out. The black rocks were on my list had I gone with 15" but I really really liked the level8's.

Can you elaborate on the hassle or is it just it makes your jeep dirty more often/quicker?

The fenders need to be over the tire as per the state law. If the tires stick out too much, it won't pass safety and cops could also give me a ticket.

For me its not so much about legality as it is personal preference. I just don't like the wheel/tire to stick out that far from the fenders unless it is a huge tire, like 40x14.5+. Just looks very rollerskate-ish to me. Yes, they would get the Jeep dirty faster, but I'm not worried about that in the slightest.

Also, a backspacing that small means that the spare tire will sit way off the tailgate. Not a huge issue if you have something like the extended Daystar bumpstops, but just something to keep in mind.

Sorry to derail your thread a bit sunny. Can't wait to see those bad boys mounted up to your '12.

Congrats Sunny and Pitt. I ordered my MB72s and Duratracs yesterday afternoon from DTD and they should be waiting for me to install when I get home tonight. Helps to live in the state they have a location in AND that everything was in stock.

I'll post a pic later as well as more of a write up but I have to say that everything good that's been said here about DTD has been spot on so far. Pricing was awesome and the service I received was fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing your pics as well so as Pitt and I already discussed, let's have a Friday new tires and wheels thread!!!!

yeah, but you still have a leg up on me...your in Tampa!!!!! Top down rollin sounds pretty good to a Northerner this time of year. We are expecting snow tonight so at least I'll get to test the new tires out though.

sunnykk, would you post the actual height of your 285/75 16's after they get mounted. I'm interested in the same combo you have. Thanks!

Sure I will. For what it's worth, they measure up to 32.5" diameter as of now.

Finally everything done and back home at 9:00pm. Long day. I'm beat. Here are some pics from my phone. The color looks almost black.

The tires measure 32" installed.

Awesome.

Before you go to bed, you're gonna peek in the garage (or look out the window, whatever the case may be) and think: Damn.

Almost forgot...if you haven't already, in the morning check your PSI. They should be at about 30.
