Got rearended!!

On my way to work waiting for a train and apparently a bright ass gecko green jeep is hard to see in the middle of a bright sunny day, woman didn't even hit her brakes just tried to swerve at the last second. My jeep faired way better then her sport trac, broke my tire carrier and dented my tailgate a little.

She told the police that she was watching the train and not paying attention to the line of cars stopped!!! And I had already been stopped for over a min or two so its not like I slammed on my brakes. Kinda makes me wish there were no cars stopped so maybe she would have slammed in to the side of the moving train.

Yea, I think it's time for a aftermarket bumper with a new carrier.

Might as well! Did you ever see the pics that ACE posted from the truck that hit them and their bumper/carrier?

I guess myself I would gladly sacrafice my vehicle in order to keep some lady from getting killed but that is just me. Sure she was driving with her head up her wazzo but vehicles can be fixed. She is probably somebodies mother or daughter or sister etc. glad nobody was hurt.

X2. Women have cell phones glued to their ears as soon as they hit the key. It's almost like they can't drive unless they're talking on the phone.

She's a fabricator. Cell phone abuser, texter, or impacted cranial-rectal syndrome.

Not many women have an interest in trains. If you have to sue, have the attorney subpoena her cell phone records. I'd bet you lunch she was using it during or just prior to the collision.

I'm sure her phone played a role, also it was Xmas eve so I wouldn't be surprised if she was leaving a party or some sort of celebrating. I was running late so as soon as the police were done with me I split. I didn't wait around to see what he had to say to her.

I guess the laws of natural selection would have kicked in if your JK wasn't in her way and she got waffled by the train when she was on the phone/texting. Glad you're ok. Time for an off road bumper.

have the jeep checked out, could be unseen damage to the frame or other area's that the force of the hit went too.

I doubt there is any other damage other than what you see. Her left front hit your spare. You're lucky that the spare caught the soft spot on her SUV. No contact visible to her bumper. She got nailed on the headlight, hood and lt fender which crumple real easy. I'd say new tire, wheel, spare carrier and gate. You got off easy. She's also lucky you had that big cushy spare tire to smack into. She would have really had a bad day if she hit the back of pickup with a big stiff chrome step bumper and trailer hitch.

I was riding my bicycle one day, trying to stay in shape, and a texter/cell phone abuser nearly drove her 3,000# car into my right ankle. I'm glad your Jeep is okay. Maybe, this will teach her a lesson.

When the Cell phone abuser rounded the corner after nearly killing me, she picked up her cell phone and went right back to texting.

X2. My TJ was rear ended by an uninsured driver in October. Spare tire got pushed through the gate and my steel aftermarket bumper bent a little. Got 2 estimates and both over $5,000. I was shocked. Jeeps don't seem to show damage, but a tweaked tub or frame can add up fast.

This...

I just got rear-ended in Oct. of this year... the car is a 2012 also... I took it to the body shop and then went to the dealer to have it "checked out." they gave me the ok that it was only body work and that the brakes, frame, suspension was all still ok.

In an attempt to not sound like a conspiracy theorist; do yourself a favor and blur out your license plate. While we all appreciate the pics, and the folks on this forum appear decent enough... this is the World Wide Web... emphasis on "World Wide." I hate for this event to be the "gift that keeps on giving." Like alimony...
