We didn't get the 12.. We got the 70th anniv. instead (still new 2011)
& didn't try sitting in the back seat.. don't really care.. We have a 9 & 11 year old... Mama has a Durango.. So no adults back there anyway..
Will probably be folded down most of the time....

Copy.... Got ya
Pretty excited.. Been driving the 2010 Camaro SS for a while.. But I'm just not a car guy..
Kinda felt like I turned in my man card
It will be nice to get back into a 4wd... I was running out of places to put my purse!!!
Luckily there is no room for it in the console of a JK so I can finally go back to using a wallet & $$ clip...

Great looking Jeep! I have a 70th JKUR and love it. I know the 12's are out there now, but the price of the 2011's made the difference between owning or just dreaming for me.

Good pick.

Remember, if it suits your needs, it wouldn't matter what year it is. The 2012's are nice, and have the new motor/trans, but in a few years, when they come out with something new again, these same people will be jumping ship, saying how foolish you would be not to buy the new and improved version.

I bought a 2011 for the same reason, big savings on the price, and no interest. It does everything I need it to do, and then some.

It's your money, your needs, and most of all, it's YOURS!

Congrats.

I got the black, too, (2012 JKU version) and the manual. Couldn't resist either one. There's something about running through the gears manually that makes the driving experience more fun.

At least for me. Maybe I'm too controlling.

Enjoy!

Thanks Steven...

The better half stayed home sick today, so we might need to delay until tomorrow or the next day.. No Worries
I know this JK was a good one for our needs.. I have 3 close friends who have Jeeps as well, so I might get to head to the hills more than anticipated.. But still will spend 95% of it's life in 2wd..
Maybe when the kids get a little older (& it's paid off!)
We will be able to spend more time offroad..
I have alot of experience in S.Oregon running Toyota 1st gen P/U's.. So it would be nice to knock the rust off my experience & break out the straps.. But I don't think it is in the budget right now.. Both $$ & time..

Probably will be ordering some parts by the end of the week... Will be installing CB.. & probably stock piling some parts for later.. winch plate.. lift.. etc etc as the $$ becomes available..
What I am having trouble finding is a tool box that will be small enough to fit, but have holding capacity for what I feel & would be comfortable keeping on board.. & finding a way to secure it down.. I have already found flashlight & fire ext. mounts locally... but that one is stumping me..
I will probably just take a stroll thru the Sears sale section & see what type of boxes they have on sale...
I have a fully stocked MAC in the garage with every tool I need for the garage mechanic.. (i use Cornwell) but I don't want to take a chance on any of that getting stolen, so I will find some Craftsman stuff that will cover my needs..

I do welcome suggestions with open arms..

I picked up my 2 dr Sport 2012 2 weeks ago.

I'm a pretty nimble, not that old, guy and I had a pretty hard time getting in the back. It was fine once your back there but not easy. One of my co workers tried to get in and I thought they were going to break their legs or dislocate a knee.

I pulled the back seat out when I got home and it's not going back in. The only people that can get there are little kids and I don't have any. For transporting more than 2 people buy a 4 door. I consider the 2 door a 2 seater.

Update on our Wrangler

I received a call from DSM & they are now offering us $2k more for our trade in... which would put the 2012 Rubicon I would want.. almost the same price as the 70th anniv....
I will give them a shot at getting us the same financing.. If they can come close.. Looks like we might end up with a 12 afterall..
& will also have the advantage of getting the Rubicon right off the bat..
Here is a link to the one I would want..

I went into the city to a dealership yesterday actually, I tried out a 4 and 2 door. I found that sitting in the back seats of both was actually pretty comfy. I sat in the 2 door and at 5'10" 185lbs i felt fine in the back seat. You are right the trouble is getting in and out, due to the jeep height. The 4 door barely had more leg room, so at 26 i think my friends will be fine in the back of a 2 door haha (and it will be hilarious if they ever make me DD in the jeep haha)
