GPS Mount Ideas

Greetings,

Decided to go with a Garmin 3790LMT. I don't want to window mount it because it's and open invitations for some low life to break in and steal it. Even removing the GPS unit and leaving the mounting says you have one somewhere. It is a pain in the rear to always take it down. I saw some ideas on Amazon regarding a CD mount so I decided to construct on myself. Sorry no pic as I am still prefecting it. The issue is to find a stiff enough plastic that is not to thick becuase the CD slot is only so wide. You also need some type of clip to keep it from calling out. Has anyone try to make a mod for this yet?

I use the Garmin 550T trail gps. I bought the car kit and a plastic disc is stuck to the dash just left of the catch-all. Works great except that in the mornings when the sun is still low, I get reflection from it. Also, as I have my hi-lift jack on the hood, the handle also reflects back. Oh well!
