Grab Handles from the Factory?

Hey JK guys,

So I am in the process of helping pick out some stuff for my brother in law for his birthday. He hasn't done any work on his jeep yet, so we thought we'd start small with some interior additions and some recovery gear. I just wanted to check though...do the JK's come with factory roll bar grab handles? The wife and MIL think they might (he has a 2012 sport), but if they are anything like the TJ...they don't. Just looking for some verification.

Thanks

My 13 sport didnt come with any. But then again i took some from a 10 sahara at work. Might depend on the trim level.

Some do....but I can't remember the order.

I know Sahara and Rubi JKU's come with 4 handles and 2 coat hangers.

I don't think Sports come with any.

Not sure about 2 door Sahara or Rubi's.

Sounds like it may just depend on the trim level. I am thinking his doesnt have them (I would just check it out, but it's kind of hard with him being in the military on the other side of the country )

If he has a sport im going to say no. I would go ahead and get him some. The mopar ones are very nice but im sure aftermarket ones are better. Ive heard of some pretty cool and nice aftermarket ones.

I would not even say the factory ones are "nice". I would more or less call them...."free".

I bought these on eBay. I like them, they have lots of colors and very reasonably priced. Just do a search for jeep paracord handles.

Thanks for the input guys! I ordered him a set of the basic neoprene quadratec ones (along with a recovery strap). I have had them on my jeep for 2ish years...and they have worked nicely. Very comfortable, and pretty cheap. The only issue is that the neoprene has faded...but what do you expect when the top/doors are off 9+ months of the year.

'13 JK Sport owner here. Not even the "Sport S". Mine came with nothing. That was literally one of the first few things I bought for the Jeep.

My 13 Rubicon didn't come with any handles. Why would you need anything to grab onto on a potential rock crawler ?

Hell, even base model 4x4 pickups come with built in grab handles on the pillars.

If they came with grab handles, then what would you get your brother-in-law for his birthday? Jeep is thinking ahead here!

13 Sahara - yes, same as other post. 4 handles and 2 coat hangers were in the glove box. Being new at the Jeep world when I looked at them the first time I said "what are these for?" Still in the glove box. I do like the look of the paracord ones and figure will get those versus installing the factory ones. Yes, agree there is something cool about climbing into the seat but after watching my 69 year old mother climb into the seat, thinking nice of me to install the handles.

Based on the posts above where no matter the model some people are getting them and some aren't my guess is some of this might depend on the dealership you purchased from. When I got my '11 JKU Sport S there were two in the glovebox. But others here have said they did not get them with their Sport S. More than likely they come with them from the factory and some dealerships relocate them to the parts department. I used the free ones up front and got the Rugged Ridge ones that are mounted using the soundbar screws for the back. One of the first things I did and they have been very useful for my wife and mother-in-law.
