great AC

with the temps in the 90's this week, i found the jeeps AC well up to the task. one of the better systems if you ask me. i am sure the hardtop helps somewhat. being a painted to match top, i have also found its not hot to the touch inside.

best way to beat the heat....doors off/top down.

They must of changed something. My 07 is horrible.

There is a modification people do that requires changing out a resister.

I have driven all makes of cars and have owned chevys and fords. Every Chrysler vehicle I have owned or driven has had excellent a/c. The best out of all of them. I told my wife one of the reasons I like Chryslers is because of the a/c.

Agreed.
When the system gets kicking it gets cold in there.

Gets even a few degrees colder if you install a heater shutoff valve.

my 08JK concurs

I've had a wide variety of luxury cars & pickups over the years.

The Wrangler A/C (and heater) is astonishingly effective.
Usually I only need it for a few minutes and then turn it off.

Got mine from original 'little old lady' that put 15000 miles on it in the 3 years she had it. No history of any repair/mod to a/c system.

As a side note, and not that I believe them on anything, I ran across one of those ConRep 'best/worst' auto bitch sheet reports. It listed the 08 Wrangler and the 05 Ram pick up, as having the 'best' service record with least complaints filed. Don't know if that's true, but my own 2005 Ram 4x4 2500, has given 88,000 no complaint miles despite the wide-spread criticism of Chrysler pick ups. I'm keeping both for now.
