I got the Rugged Ridge mesh and they came in a single piece with the grill slats punched out for a better fit. Had to modify them to fit better.

Last weekend I was at Brown Mountain OHV park in Western NC. The trail climbs steeply for a few miles and it was slow going. It's the first time my engine temp gauge has moved beyond the mid point and stayed between the halfway tick and red. I eventually pulled over when I got to a place where I could get out of the way and let it idle and cool back down. The electric fan was really wound up.

Some of these inserts appear to significantly restrict airflow. I don't have a grill guard but I wonder if it would prevent the engine from keeping it's cool in such a situation.

The effect would be minuscule at best.

They are called mounting bases and these are the ones I got at LOEWS. The dude didn't know what they were and they are located by the zip ties.

I am getting ready to do my DIY Grill Insert....

Single piece. Bought from amazon, cut down to size. Took adhesive off the 1x1 zip tie down squares and used epoxy.

I looked at it and I know I couldn't cuz I'm not mechanically inclined. I also don't have the patience to take things apart and get them back on the way they are intended to go back on. I just pay someone else to do it, but, this time the guy that was gonna has ran off with his friend's friend. Flaky dude.

Looks really clean! Nice work. How did you cut the screen? I had to do it link by link which made the screen have a little angle to it.

Thank you!! I may have to try this out. I like the smaller holes... with all the bugs up where I live my radiator is taking a huge beating and some of these grill guards to SFA to help with that! I'm mainly wanting it for the function, looking bad ass is the bonus!
