Guess what I got today?

Do you remember this video from the 2007 SEMA Show?

Cool; well after months of waiting mine has finally arrived!

I picked it up today and dropped it off with the up fitter!

We plan to install it this weekend!

My new Tires should be here at the start of next week.

I will be writing a detailed review for the next edition of www.JPFreek.com my plan is to shoot tons of Photos and Video for all you JK Guys...and you TJ, YJ, XJ and CJ guys too.

I can't wait till its done; if you want to be kept in the loop about the progress
of my build up just ask by shooting me an email.

Now I guess I need to go out and score a Rear Bumper for my rig since I have
already torn three of them off at the YO Ranch and The Inks Ranch. and I'm going to be looking into some trail corners and a new air intake to help overcome the additional mass of the 35" Tires.

I need my 2007 Rubicon to be be picture perfect by the time I get to the Fall Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree in Llano, TX in Mid-September.

Day One Update

I Talked to Joel (The Shop Owner) this am...

He and his staff have reviewed all the instructions and they say this will be a no brainier.

They have done other long arm kits on TJs and they feel the JK is pretty much the same process.

So if all goes as planed they will start it Friday or Monday.

I'm sort of hopping for Friday so I can go in over the weekend and shoot a ton of Photos.

Their shop is huge and awesome and CLEAN... It looks like one of the Shops from "Pimp my Ride" or "Trick My Truck"

But unfortunately; Joel's staff is not quite the Motley Crew the TV shows have. All the guys in his shop are more like...
Why can't my daughter meet a young man like this? I don't know if it will make the same good TV but I guess we will see.

So; Episode One of "Jack up My Keep" is about to get underway!

Just orderd one!

Okay...

Just ordered a new Steering Stabilizer from Rubicon Express...To go with my new lift kit!

I sort of violated my old OEM Steering Stabilizer on my last outing.

The part that stinks is I had just cleaned the oil stains off the driveway the weekend before I killed it! You have no idea how much one of those things leaks when you smash them.

Now: If you were me...What would you guys do about a rear bumper and swing-out tier carrier for a JK? Don't forget I'm POOR!

Rear Bumper Selected!

I just got off the phone with Nate from www.nates4x4.com.

I need to have a rear bumper on my JK.

There is now way I can run around with this new lift kit and tires and not have a rear bumper. RIGHT?

So Nate is shipping me my new Bumper Today.

It should be here next week.

What do you think of this one?

Mine will have the 2" receiver

Looks like the M.O.R.E --- only for lots less $$$.
Neat.
Is the 2" receiver class-2 or 3 "tow rated"?

Nate tells me it will also fit with my OEM receiver.

I'll need to see how it looks.

Not too sure the tow class would make a big difference to me, since the 2007 2 Door Rubicon is only rated to tow 2,000 lbs.

Have you ever seen the DINKY 4x6 trailer I pull when I wheel. It only weighs 425lbs and I haul around 250 pound in crap. From 2005-2007 I had a beer sponsor how would hook me up with 15 cases off Beer for Jeep Outings. Back then I bet my trailer might have had a GVW of no more than 1,000 lbs.

Although, I did haul a 19 foot tandem axle horse trailer last night loaded with my sister-in-laws stuff to her new house. My guess is I was a tad over 4,400 lbs for about 23 miles.

For some odd reason my wife's Cadillac Escalade did not run the trailer lights so it was easier to swap tow vehicles than mess with fuses last night. Had my daughter been there I would have towed it with the JK since it is rated to tow 5,000 lbs.

It just occurred to me? Why is it; none of my relives own trucks or SUVs with tow hitches. What good is a truck or SUV if it is not set up to tow???

Yet may family has a Ranch in West Texas and collectively he have 4 horse trailers and 16 horses? So there must be a few rigs that tow.... But none of them are ever at the moving PARTIES... I feel like I have been taken advantage of!

You're a cool dude, Greg; but you need to stop shouting...
Thanks for the info.

What front bumper do you have? Is it from the same fabricator? The front bumpers look like a similar value.

My Front Bumper

I run the Shrockworks 4x4 Front Stubbie Bumper and Shrockworks 4x4 Sliders.

I do need better looking Fog Lights!

At the time... Shrockworks 4x4 did not offer a rear bumper.

Now the poor guys is so busy with back orders he can't get me one.

So I was looking around for another small company who would like my help pimping their products.

After I get the rear bumper I might look into swamping to all of his products!

I left off my baby today!

This morning at 8:00 am My daughter followed me to Midland to drop off my JK to start the install of my new lift kit.

When I got there today I felt like a Rock Star they were waiting for me and eager to get started on it.

I've read all the instructions and If I were going to try to do this myself I would have needed a lift and some tools I don't own...

If I had access to a lift and all the tools I think I could have done it on my own but I bet it would have taken ME the better part of a week.

Today when I get a break I'm going to run up to the Shop again and shoot a few more pics.

My tires & rear bumper have not arrived yet but it's not the end of the world.
