I just suffered a nasty screw in my tire, and had it plugged. Should I get the tire + rim rebalanced? I have a rubicon with the stock tires and rims.

Thanks!

I haven't yet drove it to test for vibration while driving but figure i probably wouldn't notice much until I get it on the highway. Even then I have pastii dipped my rims so I figure if they need a rebalance it would require removing all of the plastii dip to get an accurate reading, does this sound right?

if they demounted the tire completely off the rim, this yes.. usualy a patch u would have to do this.. but good techs will mark the rim and tire so when they put the tire back on it goes back in the same spot.. but with a plug its not going to change ur weight distribution as much as u think. i bet lots of money it would be the same balance as previously before the plug and with the plug..

nope I wouldn't. We use plugs all the time in our delivery trucks and the whole good thing about the plugs is you don't have to unmount and re balance the tire... Never had a problem
